Where To Start?

For those of you who don't know I am in the process of building a 2V to drop into a foxbody... I have most, and yess I stress MOST because im far from everything, of what I need to do this build, my biggest issue is what foxbody do I put it in... I have a 89 2.3 with a perfectly fine running motor but its got some rust and body damage, I already have a door and fender for it so don't let that scare you. my problem is would I save money going a different route body wise

im really stumped .. SO.... HERES MY THOUGHT Please give me insight

If I find a roller that use to be a 5.0 I don't have to upgrade the suspension and axel RIGHT away.. I still will at some point but it would at least be drivable

if I stick with the 2.3 I have now I wont be spending a money on a whole nother car. but if I keep the 2.3 its got rust and body damage. but the inter is in good shape probably a 7/10. but in the END I plan on swapping a 94-04 interior anyway... yes the 10 year plan ..

if I go with the red/black roller I would be spending 300 more but its in good shape body wise (ugly paint) but it is completely stripped on the inside.. and it used ot be a 2.3 as well so I don't know what would need done because the guy did have a 351 in it..

so stick with what I have and ruin a good 2.3, save money without buying another, but spend a lot in body work.. or find another 5.0 and Spend 1000+.. or buy this red/black and spend 1000+ on interior

I really don't know what the best route is.. ive been writing out pros and cons but the all kinda equal eachother out..

Easy.

DD the 2.3 and save up to buy a 5.0 fox. They're so cheap you can get a nice project one for under $3000 easy. And at that you can still sell the 302 you pull out a long with whatever parts you pull.

That would seriously be the route I would take. Don't kill the innocent little 2.3!

And look for a rust free car the best you can.. Body work gets tedious and very expensive.

Just keep your eyes and ears open. I see great foxes go for sale that are only missing engine/transmission pretty often. Of course now that you want one I doubt anyone will try to sell.. That's how it goes. Haha

Agreed. Getting interior and redoing seems less daunting to me. But either way...Good project coming your way!! looking forward to the build.

I always liked the notchbacks. They were supposedly a little quicker cause they were a little lighter. That is still a 4 cylinder car though isn't it? I would keep the 2.3 car and drive it and like others have said find a v8 roller car. I have seen a few on craigslist and facebook around here for around $1000. Good luck man.

Okay so I plan on doing a lot suspension, handling, and cosmetic to her, while I build the motor on the side.. But what do I need to do because it's a 4cly.. What can be changed or needs to be changed..
