Selling price?

I'm planning on selling my 05 gt in spring and wondering on a good asking price. I have a jlt series 3 cai, bbk shorty ceramic headers, o/r h pipe, magma flow axelbacks, frpp hot rod cams and a custom dyno tune. Car is red fire metallic with 58,xxx miles. Also has a some appearance mods.

Depends on where you're located. But generally I'd say anywhere from 10k-14k. Mods don't mean much when it comes to resale... Usually they hurt the resale price.

I'm in ohio. But I knew that mods don't help resale going into it.

I sold a 2009 Wrangler last month on CL using this technique.

#1 Pulled a free Kelley Blue Book fmv quote from kbb.com. It gives you Low-Mid-High numbers, based on condition, and allows for accounting for factory options (but not performance mods)

#2 Put up a 1 photo listing on CL with a detailed description of the auto, both pros and cons, and showed the 3x KBB numbers, along with the date of valuation.

#3 Stated in the ad that with the particular options and condition the vehicle had, different buyers were going to value it differently along the three price spectrum KBB.com provided, and stated that I invited the buyer who knew this was the right auto for them to contact me to negotiate the win-win price.

It sold in 14 days between the mid and high prices I had put into the ad. The buyer was pleading that I sell to them and was telling me what a wonderful home they'd give it. Like it was a pet!

Just one technique among many . . .
