Brand new 2014 GT

Okay well I've own my 1990 GT hatchback for sometime now and now I just went and bought the new 2014 GT automatic gotta have it green. I have made my list of mods to do first. Racing stripes. sound system. And axle backs. I've ordered stripes and I have speakers already my problem is idk which axle back to go with. I'm looking for a deeper louder tone but I don't want something so loud I can't hear myself think ya know this is my DD and I have neighbors and drive to work at 4am most mornings. Any suggestions will help thanks

Congrats on the new car! I considered the gt500 mufflers that everyone recommends but ended up with roush axel backs. They may be too loud for you though... Get the gt 500 if you want to keep the peace w/neighbors lol

For a deep tone, go with GT500 Axlebacks, or Magnaflow RTR's

Those will be the worst for 4am work calls, as OP stated his has to keep in mind.

In fact, today, my girlfriend's neighbors called her and said they will call the police soon because I kept waking them up around 3-4am when I'd leave her house. I have Borla Stingers.

Tell them to get over it. Haha. Love my S types, glad my neighbors don't care, I leave at 530 in the morn.

The Roush AB is the same way. Since we live in the country, my fiancée is the only one I wake up but it doesn't make her very happy. I thought about switching to the GT500 for that reason.

I have Roush AB also and if u shift at 2k and lower they are not loud at all! If you have problematic neighbors just grandma it until your out of the area. I leave at 545 every morning and live in a residential area and have had no complaints. But Im very aware in the morning and respect my neighbors.

My Corsa Xtreme's are pricey but sound great, have no drone, and the tips are rolled. They are much better looking than the GT500's or Roush.(IMHO) YouTube the Corsa's also.

One option is to delete the resonators and get the gt500 mufflers. Then u can just add o/r x pipe if you want it louder.

Your sound is legal in 49 states. Unless your in Kali they can call the police all they want. But again , no reason to make bad friends of neighbors. Mine always give me thumbs up at 6am when I start up along with most of them.

You might have gotten the GT500 mufflers that fit the 2005-2010 cars and not the 2011-2014. The correct mufflers for your car should have two hangers that come off the back of the mufflers and curve over the muffler body toward the tips and one hanger that is welded to the back of the muffler on the side that the tip is welded on.

The older style GT500 mufflers only have two hangers total vs the three on the newer style. Post a picture of yours so we can see what you have.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but those look exactly like the stock mufflers off of my '05 GT. The newer mustangs use a ball-&-socket connection and 3 hangers.

FRPP's are always 0.5in smaller in diameter. Borla's 4.0 and 4.5 tips look amazing for the 05-09s and 10-14 respectively.

The 5" tips look the best IMO! I have Roush AB and they are 4" which still look good but 4.5 or 5" would have been pretty sweet. Anything under 4" just looks to small.

Those should fit the 2005-2009 Mustang GT's and GT500's. Supposedly the GT500's of that body style used the automatic equipped Mustang GT mufflers.

The Roush really aren't that bad unless you get on it. Although the cold starts can be a bit surprising to people close by. I have work at 5am on the weekends, and my exhaust sets off my neighbor's "warning alarm" on his truck when I start the car. But I have to hear him scream at his kids every day. Gotta love apartment living.
