I'm subscribing just because I want to see how many others have the 2. It's the red headed stepchild of the family but still deserves love

You're absolutely right, people like to undermine them because of their staggeringly low horse power, but people had to keep in mind that there was an oil or gas crisis, (I don't know the difference haha.)

In 1977 I was 18 years old, had a good job and my mom and dad helped me buy a brand new Mustang Cobra II with a V6, 4 speed and no air. I paid $5,146.00 for it at Paul Miller Ford in Lexington, Ky. I loved that car to death and it was my 1st Mustang and whoever doesnt like them doesnt appreciate Mustang's and how Ford kept them alive even during the gas crisis of the 70's. I will always appreciate that Mustang because had it not been for that Mustang I might have never owned one at all.

Long Live The Mustang II!

That's a great story, I'm glad you had the life experience of buying one brand new. Lee iococa even called the mustang ii his "little jewel". I believe the mustang ii paved the way for future mustangs as well.

I will always love that Mustang, it was a 1977 but had the 1978 stripes in the middle of the doors on it, not sure how that happened but damn it was sweet. It had the green stripes. Rear Window Louvers, Side Window Louvers that always fell off and those little side windows popped open to get some air in there and it had a AM radio...lol

The Ford I had before that was a 1971 Pinto with a 4 banger. It was brown and I bought some black highback bucket seats from the junk yard and put them in, Added Cragar's (used) all the way around and jacked that *** end up...It was brown with black interior. My buddy had a yellow Vega done the same with the Cragar's and we used to race all the time, there was never a clear winner....
