CPO '13 Premium vs '14 Base?

Hello all. New member here - my username is a bit ahead of the game as I have not yet purchased a Mustang. However, now that I'm in mid-40's, it's time for some fun. Never owned a Mustang, but I go back to my teenage years riding with my best friend in his '85 LX 5.0. I was hooked.

As the title states, I've narrowed my search down to a CPO '13 Premium (19" wheels & Comfort Pkg) with 13k miles or a '14 Base GT with Sync package. The '13 is about $1k cheaper, and with the extended warranty and Premium "toys", I'm tempted to go that direction. Carfax is clean.

Any reason to stay away from a CPO Mustang?

Don't forget that used car financing is not as good as new car. Might end up paying more for the used one because of that.
Otherwise, go with the one that ur gut says is the one!

You lose money when driving a brand new one off the lot anyways. If you get a premium it will include sync. Comfort package will get you the heated seats and those gay little running pony lights on your mirrors which are pretty cool. You can pick up a low mile modded 13 base package for $25 on a private sale.

Whats the price and miles on that 13?

On the note of the 13' CPO:

I picked up my 2010 GT Premium in Sept. with a clean Carfax and Ford Certified Pre-Owned with 15,000 miles. Extended warranty too. Interior is pretty much flawless and the motor still runs and looks like new. Only problem was the exterior was really swirled but I had it professionally corrected and the paint pretty much looks like new (but not new-new). So not bad for a 4yr old vehicle.

Now imagination what shape that 13' Premium is probably in... Close as new as you'll find I'd imagine. I'd get the 13' Premium.

Thanks guys. The CPO '13 is listed at $26.4k, including dealer fees. That's a fair price, but will work them down. Mileage is 14k+/-.

Ford CPO has 1.9 financing right now, so that is almost a wash.

Assuming the dealer doesn't sell it, I'm going Friday to (hopefully) get it.

Good luck. Just something to think about is that the base is truly base. No power seats, xm, etc. I bought mine base and didn't mind so much because I just want to have some weekend fun, but everyone's needs are different. Just food for thought.

Having the Premium will get you more money on resale, providing you don't beat the hell out of her. No one can run down the street and get one exactly like yours.

I would get the 13 over the 14 just because the 13 doesn't have the chrome surround in the grille. Everything else is just extra at that point for me

If that's the case its even worse. I see it on a bunch of v6 rentals running around my town. That's a sharp car you got there

Huh. You'd think the chrome would be a premium or special package only...

I bought a 14 base GT because I didn't want leather and most of the other electronic stuff. There is a few small things that I would like to have but I can live without them. I wanted a car that had the least amount of things that could go wrong with it. My car is not a daily driver so I don't need all of the creature comforts plus the cheaper price helped me pay for the mods that I have done.
