New mods

Hello everyone,

I was curious what mods other people have put on their cars. So far I have made a list of mods I want to put on my car. I wanted to know if anyone have the mods, I want, like them or not.

Mods:
DefenderWorx - Door Sills - Blacked out
Tear Drop Key Chain - Mustang
License Plates - Mustang Horsepower
Modern Billet Upper & Lower Grille Combo
MMD Bolt On Hood Strut - Black
Raxiom Smoked Projector Headlights
BARDO Matte Black - 18" - Set of 6
HANKOOK - Optimo H426 - P235/50R18V
Pioneer 6"X9" 3-way speakers - best buy
SHR Black Fuel Door
Smoked Quarter Marker Light Tint
Smoked Side Marker Light Tint
JLT Oil Separator - Driver's side
RTR Rear Decklid Panel

There are two things I don't have on this list, axle back exhaust and hood. I don't know what what exhaust to get. I want something that isn't obnoxiously loud and doesn't have drone on the highway but sounds very mean and has a deep tone. And as for the hood I want the hood that's at the bottom of the page, but I don't know what it's called and can't find it anywhere. I also know about inserts but I don't want to hack up my hood to install them.

Thanks

Isn't that just a regular GT/CS/BOSS hood

OP,

The hood image you posted is the regular OEM GT hood. If you want to switch to this hood, you may be able find some used ones for sale on the forum. Otherwise, you can purchase new from your local Ford dealer, but it won't be cheap unfortunately.

As far as exhaust- Do you plan on keeping the factory mid-pipe and catalytic converters in the future? Keep the cats or switching to a high-flow cats, will help the tone to remain deep instead of raspy. Just keep that in mind!

If you want zero drone, than I would go with the Corsa Sport axleback. It's decently loud, but crisp and won't produce any drone- even paired with the factory cats. They're also constructed of 304 stainless steel, so the axleback will literally outlast the car if you wanted to hang onto them for a long time.

Hope this points you in the right direction. Give me a shout if you have any other questions!

Shane

How about I help you kick start you mod list with a new Teardrop Style Key Chain? Is this the one you had your eye on? Send me your First/Last name, shipping address, and email address via PM and it's yours!

So hopefully Mother Nature will corporate some and let my new parts I ordered get here this week.

Billet upper and lower grille - not going to be installed until it warms up

MMD bolt on hood struts - probably will install this weekend

Smoked side marker tint - most likely wait until its warmer

Smoked quarter marker tint - same as above

And finally a license plate holder - to get rid of the dealer one

Not a lot for now but slow and steady wins the race..... In my mind

Ya, after buying the mustang and already having a motorcycle in the garage makes me wonder if I should move down south to Texas or Arizona.

All of the appearance stuff is personal preference. I got the decal conversion kit for my 2012 and a taillight trim to bring it all together and love the look. Also I have a JLT oil separator but for the passenger side because thats where most of the engine and oil sludge passes through. Personally I love it and it seems to be doing its job. Haven't really driven much with the weather but it did collect some crap. I intend to get the driver side but haven't yet.

Oh and for the exhaust I second what Moto111 said. I have borla s-type axle backs. No drone I have ever noticed and they have a great deep tone. Nothing too raspy since I still have cats and all that.

Yeah but they didn't have a foot of snow. I could deal and live with an inch or two but not 12-13 anymore. I absolutely loved snow days like that when I was in school, but now that I live in the really world it's safe to say I don't anymore.

That's quite a list, lots of monies to be spent. Guess that's what the mod bug is all about.

I think for the '13s and '14s the oil sludge is mostly on the driver side, that's why I'm going to get that. Want to make sure I baby this car, somewhat.

And yeah it kinda sucks to drive this car during the winter because people around here just don't know how to drive on anything except flat, straight, dry pavement.

Looks like mother nature allowed me to have some of my goodies I ordered.

This is my MMD Bolt on Hood struts, can't wait for it to warm up so I can install it.

And the other long boxes are my upper and lower grille, which I didn't want to take out because until it warms up I don't want them to get damaged.

I have the marker/signal tint along with the brake and third brake lights. The signal and marker tint I got was great, but the third brake light wasn't the right size (close enough, but still bugs me). When I got it, it was also folded in half to fit into the packaging and therefore has an annoying crease in it.

I'm not sure if it's been said, and if it's different on the v6, but for the 5.0 the passenger side oil separator is the one you want. Both would be ideal but the passenger side apparently takes the brunt of the oil.
