Window Tint

I'm going to start this out by saying I received a tint ticket today. I was just wondering what are the tint laws where you guys/gals are from. I am in Michigan and you can only have your rear and back windows tinted. Seeing as mustangs only have front and back windows, it is tough to follow that law. I know down south in some states there are no laws and you can have your windows completely blacked out. Does anyone else have problems with tint tickets?

Where Im from its 35% on driver windows, 20% on the rear/ back windows if you have them. Not very heavily inforced, have a few friends with 5% all around and never had a problem.

I have 15% all around 20% is legal in the rear and 30 I believe in the front Miami area. I have only ever heard of one person having their tint tested and they basically told off the police officer pulling them over

In Cali it's nothing on fronts or front windshield. But as dark as you want everywhere else... And it definitely is enforced in my area so I have to stay legal.

Cali is the same as Michigan then. We only have certain places that actually enforce the law though. Unfortunately I happened to get caught. It just doesn't look right to have the two small windows and the rear tinted without the front.

Exactly.

I got a ticket the other day for no front plates, tinted passenger windows (only 50%) and third brake light in my back window was covered by 35% tint. This was in my BMW. $$585.00, marked as not correctable so I can be gifted with a much higher fine.

Gotta love our CRIME FIGHTING CHP. And this happened in 10 mph rush hour on the way to work.

In MD it's 35% on the sides and rear. No windshield tint allowed except for the upper 5 inches of the glass (basically to shield from the sun). I may tint my windows eventually but it's down low on my list. Don't mind driving in an aquarium. Lol

Window Tint

What have you guys paid for tint? I got an appointment for my back and quarter windows with 15% for the highest grade tint the shop has (Lumar, Pinnacle series) They quoted $275 for that. Or $150 for the lower grade.

You deff want to go with the higher grade tint. I have had the cheap stuff before and it will eventually start to fade and wrinkle. $275 seems a little steep on the price, I paid $225 out the door.

Here in phoenix I think it's 35% in the front and as dark as you want in the back. I paid $100 for 5% all around last year and it hasn't peeled off or turned purple BUT for some reason I wouldn't go back

paid 80 with a lifetime warranty (15% all around no strip on the windshield). I'm starting to feel like everything is cheaper here in Miami ....

I live in MO, 35% up front is the legal limit, the rear and back windows can be as dark as you want. I have 20% all around and haven't had a problem yet.

In Michigan you can have tint on the front and sides, but only the top 3-4 inches!.. Been pulled over a couple of times for it and ticketed only once!..

Yeah it does suck, but it isn't enforced everywhere. That is why you have to get the full window done and just except the tickets l. Where I am from it is only 50 dollars, I'm usually good for at least 1 a year lol

We're limited to 35% all around except for windshield. I got quoted $150 for 30% at a dealership offering a "forum discount" for the local racing forum members. I haven't heard of anyone getting ticketed recently, and I run into a lot of officers where I work so I doubt I'd get stuck...hopefully.
