95 mustang 5.0

So I got a 95 mustang and the engine went bad on it.. I'm looking at a 302 5.0 v8 and I was wondering.. will I need to replace the Tranny too or could I keep the original one?? Plz help me out!

1989 LX, 306 with TF top end kit, Anderson N-21 cam, TKO 600 trans with steel splatter shield,full Maximum Motorsports Mustang maximum Grip box, Detroit locker rear end with 31 spline Moser axles. Staggered wheels with Nitto 555 315/35/17 out back.

Your trans should bolt up but I believe the gearings are different than the V8 5 speed. I believe the rear end is different also. I dont think its the 8.8. Maybe someone else will chime in and clarify some of this. I've never had a V6 or done the swap. Not sure what kind of power the V6 trans and rear will hold either. Obviously you XAN put the V8 in and drive the car without problems but I'm just not sure how it will hold up to abuse.

Yea or I'm have a v6 the original one but of a donar car would that bolt right up no problem and would I be able to throw on a turbo onto the stock engine? It's only got 90,xxx on it

Yeah if you had a 94-95 donar car everything would swap rite over. You can't use an older T-5 because the input shaft is shorter. The rear end is also narrower on the fox body cars. The trans in the 96-98 will also fit but those are the T-45 trans and I believe those would just bolt rite up also.

As for the turbo, I can't answer that question with confidence because I've never had or used one. Personally I would take all that money and put heads, cam and intake on it with 70mm TB and 73mm C&L CAI and then have it all tuned.
