Sad day for Mustang lovers.

So I was on my way to work this morning. I was turning left when some guy falling asleep runs his light and hits me. The cop told me it looks totalled. I hope not.

I'm ok. Just a little heart broken. I just had the paint refinished Wednesday. I didn't even see that guy coming.

I tried to take a few but it was still dark here and they didn't come out too good. I'll get some when I meet with the guy from the insurance company.

Cops aren't always a good judge of accidents. I had a state trooper show up at mine 4 years ago and the entire front end of my Honda had been practically ripped off from a Jeep (it was my fault - no traffic lights at very busy intersection plus I had my license for like a matter of months). Anyways, the front was gone. The bumper had disintegrated, the lights were now all over the roadway, and the hood was gnarled up. But I ask if I could drive it home because my house was like a minute down the road. The cop assured me it was totaled and wouldn't run. I assured him that it would start. He doubted me. I turned the key and she came to life. No leaks, no weird sounds, perfectly running engine. He followed me home as I went along the shoulder to home. Worst day of my life, obviously, but just goes to show that cops just say that sometimes. They are no insurance agent/mechanic though. They don't know what the car's worth nor what the repairs would cost.

Oh PS if anyone was wondering: neither me nor the jeep driver were injured. The accident occurred at sunset while it was pouring. Visibility was terrible. I had been sitting at my stop sign for near 5 minutes I'd say. I inched forward while my view to the left was being blocked by cars in the turn lane. Stupid mistake. A Jeep Liberty came barreling into my line of travel. We connected on the nose of my car and the rear wheel of the Jeep. The Jeep spun several times down the wet road and into the shoulder as I managed to drive mine into the shoulder (no airbags went off, suspiciously). I got out and sprinted to the Jeep and the owner (a woman in her 50s) stepped out and was surprisingly calm. What a day, man...

My airbags deployed. That's why he said it was totalled. We hit pretty much head on. No serious injuries. His truck was fine. My front end was messed up pretty bad.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, that really blows, sorry to hear that. I would definitely be depressed if that happened to mine, since it hasn't been very long since I got it. Well I would also say to rape the guys insurance.

I'm glad I hadn't ordered the parts yet. I was waiting for them to add a few more items to their inventory. Looks like I'm back in the Lincoln LS for a little while. I'll definitely be drinking away some sorrows tonight.

That sucks, but the most important thing is you are ok. I agree to make that guy's insurance pay for all fixes and diminished value if they don't total it. If totaled... well the good news is that 2V New Edges are pretty inexpensive.
