04 GT hybrid

So me and my brother are walking out of path mark. And I overheard these two guys talking. One was standing next to a green 04 Gt and the other guy says "hey man nice car" and the guy with the mustang goes "yeah thanks it's a hybrid". At first I was Like wtf did this guy just say. But sure enough on the left side of the car there was this crazy looking thing that I guess was the electrical outlet or whatever. I'd figure I post this to see if you guys had ever heard of anything like this before. Personally I was just mad he used a GT I would of traded him my V6 and he would have got even better gas mileage lol

Nah I should of lol and I don't thing it was separate because it was exactly where the gas tank is just on the other Side. he said he did all the work himself. But he seem a little off and he was in a handicapped spot. I didn't mention that part at first because I didn't want to offend anyone.
