Opinions on black rims?

I've always considered black rims a little meh but some of the recent ones are growing on me. The other day I saw a Stingray go by with OEM black ones which pretty much put the final "nail in the coffin" of me thinking they are cheap looking. AM is having a sale on some of their wheels right now and I've always liked the 2010 premium style.

Any opinions on running black rims?

It depends on the color of the car and anything else you might have done really. Black wheels look great with other black accents, which is why for my Black Bullitts with a polished lip I have tinted hadlights/tail lights, and then the lip matches the fuel door as well as my bumper lettering.

On your car i think black wheels would look good if you matched it with other black accents.

Why not get your current rims powdercoated in black with blue accents to match your car?

I still think it takes a lot to pull off black wheels and most people don't manage to do it. I think your car looks worlds better with the chrome wheels. Black with that shade of blue just doesn't jive with me

Black rims IMO go with everything!!! Well almost everything but they can easily be pulled off as long as u don't have a bunch of different colors on ur car already. Silver to me look like stock rims for the most part & chrome just make me wanna puke! Other than charcoal & black I don't really like any other color rims..that's just me tho!

Love mine! Came from the factory too. I like gloss black infinitely better than matte black though (looking at you, PlastiDip).

Because I currently have 17s and I don't like 17s and EVERYONE around here has Bullitt wheels. NOBODY has 2010 wheels.

My plan was to get smoked fogs, smoked headlights, tint the back windows and a VERY light tint on the tails. The entire interior is already black.

These are the rims I am thinking of. They do also come in chrome but one touch of salt and chrome has a tendency to jump right off the rim. I am not planning on driving this car in ice or salt but if its a nice day and there is a little white film left on the roads I don't want to not be able to drive it so its going to be black if I get the 2010s. I wish they still had the hypercoat but oh well... AM GET HYPERCOAT BACK!!!

Then there are 03 Cobra rims...

AFS on the eVilbays....

I'm usually the one on here answering questions but I'm like a woman looking at shoes when it comes to rims lol.

I'm not a fan of the 2010 style wheels at all, especially in black. I'd go with the Cobra rims over those.

FR500 and Bullitts are the new Cobra R rims as in EVERYONE with a Mustang has them. The 03 rims are rarer especially in 18s. I dunno there is just something about the 2010s I like. Also with my mil discount the 2010s are $420 shipped... That's $150 over the AFS rims but I have to think about it. Its down to the 2010s in black or the 18" AFS 03s.

Am has the 18×9 cobra anniversary wheels in anthracite for 79.00 each. I know you want black just another opinion.

I just looked and the 10th anni 18x9s are $144. I'm also not a huge fan of them and I'm going to run staggered so I'd need 18x10s too.

I think in some cases it's played out way too much! But on the other hand it looks awesome on most rides! So it's pick your poison on either black or chrome or black & chrome. Just depends. You got pics of your car they can be photo shopped onto? That's the best way to do it. If you're talking about the same wheels I'm thinking about then they're what I had on my 05 sixxer 18x9 all around

17s= puke. I hate 17s, I can't wait to get these ones I have on the car off even tho ppl say they like them. I can probably get some decent coin out of them because of the Nittos in good shape and because there is only one slight rash on one of the rims. Chrome is perfect on my current rims because its never driven in weather right now.

Also kicking around 19s again. 19x8.5 and a 19x10 out back. 275/35/19 is only a half inch over stock 95 Cobra, 285/85/19 is .8" over stock 95 Cobra and a 235/40/19 up front is like .3" over stock 95 Cobra. My current front tire is only 25.4" tall 265/40/17... bleh... Tires are not TOO bad for 19s honestly. Probably looking at some Mickeys out back and then a good quality summer tire up front which means no Sumis lol.

Def agree here. Your ride looks sick the way it is with the chrome. I've only like the black look with either white or silver.

Think I'm actually going to get the AFS Cobra rims. I can't stand my current rims and they do look like roller skates IMO.

Hoping I can get a solid $600-$800 out of the current rims/tires on there. Everything is in really good shape minus a small rash on the lip of the right rear rim. I almost cried that morning when I was on 3 hours of sleep and scraped going out of the driveway...
