Ring and Pinion

I just put a Ford racing 355 ring and pinion in my 96 mustang gt. The pattern on the ring is good on both the drive side and coast side and the back lash is about 10. It takes off great and doesn't make any noise in while going forwards or in REVERSE but wines like crazy when coasting. It doesn't make sense to me why it wines while coasting but not in reverse since they're both on the coast side. Any help will be greatly appreciated..

Is this a new set or a used set?

Do you think it just needs time to wear?

Try this

Tech

Click on above tech
This should work for you.
Whoever put your gears together did not do it correctly because you should not be hearing any noise.
Gear Noise === Wear.
Don't let anybody try to tell you that the noise is normal or it will go away. It won't go away and will get worse and it is Never ever "NORMAL"
Whoever did it needs to do it again properly.
