2015 - Don't use line lock on track!

So, since everyone in the Mustang community has been awaiting word about whether or not the use of "line lock" on the 2015 Mustang GT will void the warranty, I've found a definite answer: yes and no. If used on the strip or any other legal race situation, the use of line lock will void (I assume partially) your warranty. However, if used anywhere else (i.e, private property, etc.), the use of line lock will not void your warranty. For those of you that don't know. Line lock is basically a way of the car applying brakes to the front wheels while allowing power to go to the rear wheels without the brakes being engaged in the rear. Now my only question is...how will Ford know if you used it on the track or someplace else? Seems like small print that was added to make Ford's lawyers happy...it doesn't seem enforceable to me!

Use The 2015 Mustang's Burnout Control To Race, Lose Your Warranty

Well I think it's already the case that you lose the warranty if you race your Mustang now, but Ford would never know!

How will they Know ?

You ever hear of GPS ?

All Ford has to do is pull the info out of your MANDATORY for 2014 + Black Box
and it will tell them When, Were and Exactly at What Time you used that Line Lock.

Which is why opting for that eye candy Premium Track App is so NOT good

Any good Prosecutor can pull the info out of your 2013 2014 Black Box
and BUST your *** when you state, I wasn't drag racing your honor
when i wrecked that car into the other
And they have ALL the info right there in a print out pulled from your Track App
showing you were

Which is why the BASE GT with NO Track App is the only Mustang To own

Just curious, what told you it would not void your warranty if used on private property?

You missed the point
Forget the line Lock issue

Those that have the TRACK APP and get into an accident while Drag Racing or lets just say over-acceleration are SCREWED

Iam skeptical it RECORDS ALL your acceleration patterns and can be used against you in a court of law.
Its Facebook for traffic lawyers

Not in my car

Never heard of this happening. Do you wear tin foil on your head to keep "them" from reading your mind too? Lol jk But really, Ford just doesn't have the time or resources to check up on everyone's Mustang to see if they are misusing it. Maybe Bugatti can, but Ford?

Who said Ford ?

LAWYERS have full disclosure of the info
when requested

Nothing Tin foil
about that.

If a client has been hospitalized because of your unlawful use of a vehicle (speeding)
and you claim different

The info on the Track App could probably be subpoena'd
and used against you.

And that ain't no conspiracy theory

Don't really see the issue. I'm sure with the '13s and '14s that still have warranty, if you take it to the track and **** it up, it won't be covered under warranty because you were racing it. Break something on the highway or normal road? Probably covered. This new line lock 'policy' doesn't really seem any different than what is already in place.

Am I missing something?

The stupidest thing I've heard in some time are people expecting Ford to warranty a car that someone broke at the track or their back yard abusing the systems put in it. You do know that if you destroy your car at the track, insurance doesn't cover it and warranty won't either so I don't see why this is considered ludicrous.

If you want to use it, do so at your own risk. They're just catering to those who like to track the cars.

Absolutely NOT

The only way they can GPS Your ***
is if you opted for the Base 301a package which includes the My Scync
Then the phone towers can pin point your location while transponding your phone call records

The Base 300a Plain Jane cars have a black box
obviously to record speed at impact of an accident

But No GPS
or mapping of your acceleration habits

Which is exactly what the track app does and records

Warranty... F warranty. I bought my mustang for one thing, to go balls deep in the accelerator while shredding a corner. If I break it, I take care of it. I wouldn't trust some service hack to F with my car. I don't even let them change the oil. 55k miles on my tire slayer and not a single problem.

4 or 5 months into ownership, my Mustangs engine developed a squeal. Ford replaced the necessary parts out of their pocket. It wasn't something that was my fault, just a shoddy part. So, no, don't F the warranty! That's what the warranty is for.

Ya, a few months after buying my GT, I started to have starting issues. Kept taking it in to get it looked at and it turned out to be a defective fuel pump. Warranty was one of the main reasons I bought new. I get what he's saying though.

Different strokes for different folks I guess! The ford dealers in my neck of the woods are a nightmare to deal with.
I'd sooner pay out of pocket and replace a serpentine belt myself vs. calling the dealer to set up an appointment, taking the time to go in and wait while some UTI flunky molests my car during the bs test drive.

I voided my warranty in the first 5K miles anyway. The mod bug bit me hard.

Once mine blows, I'm gonna build a 2JZ GTE with a Getrag 6 speed. And then I'm gonna blow minds.
