Sn95 cobra or new edge Gt?

When summer comes around, I will have roughly 6,000 to spend on a new mustang. I have a 98 v6 at the moment. So my budget is the new edge Gt or a sn95 cobra? What do you guys think I should get? Just want some opinions. I think the sn95 cobra has 305hp to the flywheel and the new edge gt's have like 260hp. I'm leaning toward the cobra.

Hard choice.
The new edge, body style is still by far the most aggressive and my favorite still to this date.
The sn95 cobra will be a better starting point though.

Yea that's the same thing I'm thinking. I think I'm going to go for the power over the looks. My friend has a 2001 gt and I would love something that won't just match his but beat him in a race

Tough one, if you go for the cobra try for a 97-98, new edge 01-04. The 99-00 cars run hard it's I've seen more blown/damaged 99-00 engines than the 01-04. Out the box the 96 cobra has a smaller radiator and fan and the water pump is to small. Not that it matters the catback is smaller also. Just a few things to consider.

So a new edge gt will be my safest bet considering those things. I don't want to have major mechanical problems. I'm only in high school and wouldn't be able to dish out a couple grand for repairs

do u know of where to get a sn95 cobra for 6k?
if not I would just get a new edge GT.
If you do know where to get one then you probably
know the owner.. so judge for yourself if the car was
beat or babied.. Cobra if its a clean car if not you cant
loose with the New edge body style. It is basically time less,
yes there getting old but they will always look good.

I saw a couple on craigslist. I would need to check them out in person first though. Click image for larger version

The 99-00 where built at the Windsor plant and the 01-04 at the Romeo plant. Just from past history the 99-00 lose a main and or rod bearings and have had oil pump issues. My buddy has a local shop for many years and works on alot of stangs. The 99-00gts give him the most rebuild work. He is constantly replacing the engines or rebuilding them.

I vote 94/95 Cobra honestly. Also, if you are in HS and don't have money to spend on repairs... might want to think long and hard about getting into a 10-20 year used sports car. Just saying.
