4.6L 2V & 4V Alternator/Grounding Issues?
What is known about 4.6L 4V alternator issues and possible grounding issues with same part?
-When i installed my new 200amp alternator & power wire on the '96 Cobra, I did my best to eliminate any touching between the engine block, any framing, and the alternator itself.
-I rubber coated the bottom and back side of the alternator anywhere it would directly rest up against engine. I applied grease along area at bottom where bolts in, the bolts it rests on, bolts attaching to wire loom frame on top, applied a layer of silicone on engine block behind alternator. Overkill? I don't know.
What say you??
