2015 Ford Mustang pace car - Official

Looks great, but they should have used the new GT500.

From press release:
· All-new 2015 Ford Mustang will serve as pace car for the Quicken Loans 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway June 15, a fitting tribute to 50 years of continuous production

· Joe Hinrichs, Ford Motor Company president of The Americas, will drive the Race Red Mustang GT fastback to start the race

· This sixth-generation, rear-wheel-drive Mustang boasts iconic long hood, short rear decklid proportions, as well as the low, wide stance of its predecessors, but features a design that is very much 21st century, with state-of-the-art engineering and technology

7 pictures and full press release

My son and his friends say it looks like a "Girly Car". Girlfriend said reminds her of a Fusion 2 door. I Have seen one in person here in Naples in DIB and I gotta say it appeals less in person than in pics. Glad I have 2013

Just let it shoot out your mouth. I feel your pain. That rear end is really awful and feel bad for all those cars behind it.

My exact thoughts lol. It's so un-muscle-car-like that it sickens me..

To me it just looks like a modern new edge. I wonder what would be the reaction if this body was released in 05 instead of the S197.

Still glad that I chose what I did. I'd rather have a 13 over the 15.

I agree, would look much better with the 13-14 rear.

Yeah that rear... everything about this car seems like a fail to me. Yeah it will probably have some cool tech but its is uglier and heavier with the same motor. They might kick it up another 20-30hp but that will be by doing stuff the aftermarket already does to the current 5.0 anyway.

And it makes me sad to see them get this so horribly wrong when they got the 2011 so amazingly right.

Even if it stays the same weight, it is uglier and more expensive and will probably not be as good in a straight line but better on the road course. IMHO, most ppl who want Mustangs want them to be fast in a straight line first.

Nothing worse that looking at that lol... the S197 is the mustang
that was built right and will be near impossible to duplicate. Just like
the 60's some years just nailed it like the 1967-68 Fastback GT
the rest were mediocre at best.

There's lots of people that think the new edge is the best looking body style.. I think it's worth a notice.

I just asked my mother what she thinks about the rear of this new Mustang... and she said it looks ugly. This is coming from an old fashioned Mexican woman that doesn't speak English and loves to cook and garden.

It'll catch on. I think I'll trade in my Mustang for a new convertible GT maybe 6 or 7 years from now. Gotta pay this b**ch off first. Lol
