Search Function 101

Today kids we are learning the feature called "The Search Function." It's that empty text field with the button labeled SEARCH.

The Search Function is not only useful to find information but it will also keep trolls like Compstall, Kona, and DallasStang (oh... that's me!) from replying with sarcastic comments.

Here's the step by step on how to do some searching of your own.

1.) Click on the empty field box
2.) Type in words like "Which exhaust is best" or "how to install gauge cluster"
3.) Press ENTER or click the button next to the field box
4.) If the results aren't what you're looking for than try adding some other descriptive word in the search field

And if you have multiple questions, its like doing the dishes. You wash, rinse, and repeat.

HAPPY SEARCHING!!!

Its a forum, its meant to interact. If we wanted to Search for old write ups we would just go to Google.

Yes it is a forum where we interact. But do we really need "what exhaust should I get" threads multiple times a week? Some stuff like that is easy to do your own research on without making a whole new thread.

Agreed, search. It's ok to repeat some topics but to repeat the same frigging topics over and over and over..... And over and over and over... And over and over and over... Is pretty ridiculous

If it wasn't for exhaust and gear threads, mustang evolution would not exist and mods would not have a job.

Oh it would. Bc then we could get rid of some of the " tuner crowd " that's on here.

How about all the questions about Supercharging vs. Turbocharging? Now that everyone is buying up all the 2014 Mustangs, more articles keep appearing. Mustang Evolution needs to limit everyone that joins, be allowed only to go to the rules and learn how to do the searching for themselves.

I just think the rule of thumb is if you post a specific question showing that you have done some work into asking the right question then its fine.

If someone is asking about the instrument cluster swap and said in his new thread that he's done this and that but can't figure out about this one part then yeah it's a legit question.

But if they come on and start a new thread asking "hey has anyone ever swapped out a gauge cluster and how do you do that?" Then that's just laziness on their part.

Seriously, Deerslayer was the one who posted about the cluster swap. I seriously doubt he wants to go back and copy and paste the steps from that thread into basically a new but same how to swap cluster thread.
