In fun, and speed, hell yes.

In mpg, interior design, riding quality, insurance cost, and probably mileage... Not so much. Mach is sweet and a raw power car. But it's sitting on a really old chassis and has a very basic and dull interior. But you'll be able to burn the tires off your rims >: )

I love the Mach 1's. Simply because of the rarity. And the only thing rare ab them is the motor and name haha. 4v 4.6 making 305 HP... Since it's lighter than the 05-10 GT's it would definitely stand a chance. Wheels are one of a kind too though. Love the Azure Blue and Comp Orange colors too.

Other than that the interior kinda blows in the 99-04 models.

They are nice but don't pay a premium for one. $12-$14k at the VERY most even for a super low mileage one. Any more than that and you are getting close to Terminator territory. The Mach, when it comes down to it, is the GT with a 4V and a little better braking system. Yes obviously there are more differences but really the only one worthwhile is the 4V. At least IMO.

I think its a great car if you're stuck between getting a gt or a terminator especially price wise. I bought mine new and couldnt be happier with it. Great power, great handling

Indeed. Personally I'd change a few things too but its not my car and if you like it it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks as long as its nothing unsafe.

I fell in love with the shaker hood that's what most people ask me about. I had a 03 gt for a very short time before I got my Mach and it just feels different (besides just the motor) but that's just my personal opinion.

I'll tell you right now you buy a Mach 1 because it's a "Mach 1". By that I mean you choose the Mach over an N/A cobra or even a terminator for the shaker, heritage wheels, throwback seats etc. So to answer your question yes they are badass, they are in their own league imo, separated aesthetically and performance wise from GT's and Cobras. Keep in mind they were also underrated from the factory..most Mach 1's in stock form were generating closer to 315-325 to the crank.

When I started looking for another stang I knew I wasn't going to bother with 2v's or older 5.0's, absolutely nothing wrong with them but I knew I wanted a 4V. I always wanted a Mach 1 since high school and found this one 2hrs away...stole it for 10k with 57k miles on the clock.

That car is sex on wheels

I also hope to bring my Mach up to that level of badassness one day.

Thanks guys. The car was making 25.5 lbs. of boost so I was unable to just use pump gas anymore. What started out as a fun car turned into a very expensive car. The Whipple was the third blower I had with a Procharger and a Kenne Bell coming before it.

I have an '03 that I love- I have previously owned a number of great Mustangs, including a Saleen Parnelli Jones S302, and a Roush. My Mach 1 is not the fastest, or the most comfortable, but it does everything really, really well. It handles great, runs low 13s, and gets 25MPG. All around, a truly great car. It also has all of the stuff to make it a real super car. I got mine for 9K with only 44k miles on it, in near perfect condition. The only problem is the lack of performance goodies compared to other Mustangs, mostly due to its age.

If I was ever to get a Mach 1 it would be a 2004 Competition Orange Mach 1 automatic. Yes automatic. I like all the colors the Mach came in actually except the 2003 chrome yellow. I hate that color. The 2004 yellow (screaming yellow?) is much much nicer.

2003 was Zinc wasn't it? Best color. If I would've seen a Yellow GT I would've jumped on it but there's hardly any when I was searching.
