What the f is this model car?

Today at the AM show I saw thousands of stangs but this one in particular stood out to me that has me confused. Can someone please explain what a Boss 226 is? WTF? This is a newer model 11-12 and not familiar with what a Boss 226 is.

Oh, its a 3.7 bro and the cubic inch on a 3.7 is 227 that's why its freaking hilarious. The dude can't even get the cubic inches correct. Good grief man. Lmao. That owner is a member of this site?

I saw this there and was blinded by those rims, chrome overload. I also don't understand the carbon fiber hood with chrome vents, throws off the chrome look. Maybe he purposely meant to make it 226 as a joke? I sure hope that's the case.....

Ba ha ha ha. Dude I saw those rims and it was like bam. The car was really a train wreck between the wheels, carbon fiber hood with chrome vents, smurf dolls all over the f ing engine bay and topper Boss 226.

I come up with 225.787 cubic inches for 3.7 litres.
Or rather, Google does...

Personally, the "Boss 227" irks me. It's like slapping Cobra badges on your Fobra in my opinion. There is a Boss 302, not a 227.

Other than that, I agree, that car is hideous. Unfortunately, having worked in a custom shop, the things people asked us to do to their vehicles made my skin crawl. But as my brother put it. "Screw it, as long as we get paid we'll do this dumb stuff."

Actually, it is 225.78769 cubic inches to 3.7 liters.

61.0237 cubic inches = 1 liter

Liters to Cubic Inches conversion

But the V6 is probably actually 3.712 liters or something....

Ford specs (note: 2015 but same engine as 2011 if I'm not mistaken).

When you come down to it, you can't really ask "what model is this boss 226" (same thing for boss 227) because it's just an amusing made up thing. There isn't anything about the word "boss" that makes it special. When you wiki the boss mustang you'll see in its history that the guy who made the first boss mustang in 1968 called it that because he would refer to it as "the boss's car". I was always really curious about Alrefire and Whitelightning's signatures with the "original" and "real" boss 227 banter. A couple months ago I googled it because I wondered what it meant. Found this:

Boss 227

It's hilarious, I think! Even funnier when you know that those two guys are friends in real life. Then 2011 Kona Blue got in on it, too. I wouldn't do it to my own car because I don't like stripes and decals, but I love that they do it.

That said, this car is hideous.

The words Boss on the car is just soooo wrong (lol) but tgr kicker is the dude didn't even put the correct cubic engine size of the 3.7 on it. I was hoping to ask the dude who owned the car what the heck is 226 but he was no where to be found. Lol

Respectfully, according to the manufactures (Ford) 2014 3.7 spec sheet the cubic inches is 227. Look in the column that reads displacement. I'm not saying your wrong but this is taken off of Ford's spec sheet of the 3.7 engine.

That's ford claim. They rounded it up. But if you do the math it'd actually closer to 226

Actually, they rounded down. You're forgetting the decimal points. It's not exactly 3.7L. It's 3.731L = 227.68 cc.

Man does it feel good to correct Rap. This doesn't happen often. Looking forward to seeing if he has a counter point though, he seems to always have some obscure info.

Does anyone have a link that shows what the 3.7 is in cubic centimeters? The Coyote as well...
I looked but couldn't find it.

Using only the raw numbers, the 302 is technically a 4.9 litre.

You're right if it's 3.7. But it's not, it's 3.731.

The GT is 4.951L = 302.13 cubic inches. Here's the link: http://www.edmunds.com/ford/mustang/...est-specs.html

And since we are all getting nit picky technical here, I ought to correct myself for accidentally saying 227.68 "cc" earlier, I meant "cubic inches", which is obviously not the same thing.

Haha.
I'm not going to argue 10 cc. The numbers get us to where we need to be.

226 IS closer to being correct, assuming we use correct math. I never did understand where 227 came from for the 3.7 liter.

It came from the Ford motor company who manufactured the engine and has 227 listed in the spec sheet for engine displacement size.
