Just tested my MPT tune

Holy God and baby jesus.......wow. This tune is insane. I got the 91 race and all I have is a JLT cai. Was running the Bama 91r and it's very good, but the MPT takes it up a notch. Got it in one day, too. Great customer service!! Shifts are crisp and it pulls like a freight train.

What model year? And MPT is making a pretty good name for himself. Yeah you only get 3 re-tunes for the price of the canned lifetime jobs but they are legit tunes vs a guesswork tune.

Yea MPT def is making a name for themselves! Not too many 5.0 that I know are running them a lot of 3.7 guys swear by them! Cool to see a 5.0 running MPT & liking it! I might give them a shot for $75 can't really go wrong!

Yeah $75 for a legit "send me your datalogs and I'll burn you a real custom tune" is pretty good. Yeah you need a SCT but with all the used X3s out there now that the X4 is out, its pretty inexpensive.

Thinking of getting an MPT tune for my 3.7 soon. Any opinions on reliability with MPT? I want something more aggressive than my BAMA, but not at the expense of the motor or drivability.

I really, really, really recommend MPT.... Ken is amazing and has really helped me take my car to the next level. I couldn't be happier with my cars performance it has totally transformed. Everyone that rides in my car is completely blown away. People legitimately don't believe that I have a 3.7 under the hood or am not running FI.

I've had my MPT tune for about a month and I am overall happy with it vs my old Bama 93 Race tune. Never had to datalog it with MPT but should I?

I would just to see if there is anything you can improve on.... the thing is they already push it as far as they can safely. That's why they take a few days and you don't need to do revisions. It's already as good as you can get pretty much

Get it bro ! Its amazing ! I had the 91 Hybrid tune and going from that to the 91 MPT race tune was a big difference ! Its really reliable ive been running it for about half a year now and no problems at all. It has pretty aggressive shifts but you'll get used to them. My tires chirp up to third when it wouldnt even chirp 2nd gear with the bama. Overall i recommend it the tune is really good

Thanks for the detailed response. I'll probably place an order soon and try to squeeze some fun in before the cold white stuff starts falling.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your new tune and that you were very happy with your Bama tune as well. When was the last time you called in and datalogged with us and got an updated Bama tune? Since the arrival of our new head tuning specialist the Bama team has been hard at work on the rollers, on the street and at the track making huge improvements. With a heavy focus on 2011+ Coyote's!

If you haven't had any revisions recently I'd love to get you in contact with Paul. Everyone that has taken the time to datalog with Paul and make a few adjustments has been shocked and even said "it's not even the same car".

If you're interested, please shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up! At the very least I'd love to hear how it compares to your newest tune and your old Bama tune.

I look forward to speaking with you!

-Dan

If you don't mind me asking, what tune did you order from MPT? I'm thinking of going with 93 performance tune with race trans, but don't know if it will be too jumpy for a DD. Thanks in advance!

The MPT race version isn't jumpy at all......I was concerned, too, after reading posts. Get it....it's awesome and not even remotely close to as harsh as I had thought it would be. It's crisp. And my mpg increased by 2.1 gallons.

DAN: PM sent, sir. Thank you for the correspondence.

I got the same one and its not jumpy at all i mean you kinda feel the aggressive shift from 1st to 2nd but thats how good it is but you get used to it and with enough care in how you press the gas you learn to avoid it
But overall i promise you that you will be really impressed let us know what you think once you get it ! Have fun and be careful at the "track" testing it lol

Just tested my MPT tune

So I'm trying to instal my MPT tune, but want to set the car back to stock first. Problem is I can't find the option to upload the stock tune anywhere. Any recommendations?

Edit: never mind, I'm an idiot! I'll post my thoughts on the MPT tune after a quick drive.

Yea, the wait is killing me! The car feels so good, it's crazy how much power MPT was able to squeeze out of it. Only have about 30 miles on it, but so far it feels a lot better than my BAMA 93R. The amount of engine braking will take some time to get used to though.

You get used to it in like a day . I don't even notice it anymore.

If it feels fine then don't worry about it, but I did the same and 're loaded it and 're learned it for 50 miles .
Definitely a very powerful tune. I have the race shifts and love it did you get the same

Hey guys, I know this is a really dumb question, but it sounds like this tune (all tunes?) have changed/improved the shifting of the auto trans. Am I correct in assuming that this isn't the only benefit of the tune? Having a manual trans, I would still benefit from just generally better power output from the engine?

Thanks for humoring me

Yep manuals benefit from.better engine performance as well. The auto has better engine performance and better shift timing and firmness. Mine is a manual and I noticed a good change

is this MPT tune you guys are talking about is it considered an UPGRADE from a custom tune? Do you have to buy either BAMA or SCT tunes first in order to use MPT?
