I'm obviously a little biased as I've been running their tunes for well over 3 1/2 years on two different Mustangs (I'll include family members as well) They're definitely the way to go and I'm confident that you would be blown away with what they're able to do for your car! I know it's like apples to oranges between the GT and the Cobra but check out our '98 shop car and what they we're able to do with it! If you have any specific questions don't hesitate to let me know or shoot them a call directly at 888.226.9764 and they can get you set up!
Been running 93 Race for quite some time now and very pleased. I have tinkered with trying another just to see but NOT because of anything wrong with BAMA. I would really like to do a complete comparision write up on a few against each other
You can check out Steeda tunes ... we have been tuning for quite some time without any issues when it comes to engine failures or warranty claims.
The same tunes we write for our performance Mustangs that are sold at Ford Dealerships are the same tunes we write for our customers.
Not many tuners in the industry have a great track record like Steeda does ... feel free to shoot me an email & I would be happy to help answer any of your questions.
my am tune wasn't great for my old car. I sent them the data logs. After a week or 2 they didn't get back to me. Finally I got someone that wasn't retarded on the phone and he sent me a BAMA shirt. Then he had someone look at the data log and they made no changes. Supposedly they have a new tuner or something there now though. I would also consider brenspeed or VMP.
Just remember, a canned tune (what bama is) will never be as good as a legit dyno tune or a remote datalogged tune. Apparently the dude at Bama who was recently let go was full on ****** as far as tunes go. I can only hope that the replacement guy actually knows how to tune a car, and not just let the computer spit out a "close enough" tune.
Not saying your wrong but do you know how much faster will a custom legit dyno tune make car A run in the quarter mile over same car A using a canned tune such as Bama or MPT?

I'm not even talking about 1/4 times, I'm simply talking about the dyno guy being right there and tuning your specific car live as it happens monitoring everything. The tune itself will be totally customized for your specific car on the spot. Some mail order or remote tunes get very close. AED/MPT and others will pull datalogs and burn as custom of a tune as possible vs a preloaded canned tune but its still not going to be as 100% good as a dyno.
A custom dyno tune is definitely customized for one specific car and pays detail to just your car. I personally for a bolt on modded car wouldn't spend the $500 dollars on a custom dyno tune. If I was F.I. custom dyno tune 100% but for bolt on mods, no real benefit that's my understanding.
A while back my local mustang club had a dyno day and used a highly reputable dyno tuner in the Delaware area. I had spoken to the dyno operator about getting a custom dyno tune compared to my MPT, Bama, Steeda tunes. The dyno operator said for me not to waste my money because my tunes were getting great power already and didn't think he could do that much more to justify the 500 dollar price tag.

Like others have said Bama is fine for a canned tune. However any remote tune or dyno tune would be better. I agree that there is no point paying for a custom tune until you have substantial mods that would warrant it, i.e forced induction, built stroker, etc
