yes, you will need boost or nitrous, and then one with exhaust, cam will still get you.

You at 450-500 at the tires will still get beat by a full bolton cammed ls1 Fbody

Roughly 320ish Hp and 350 tq stock with the WS6.

But totally agreed. It would take a dump on a 3v.

Stock? It could probably still take the GTO since it's a boat, but the Coyote stock for stock would be a close race.

Yeah I got the same. It would time out occasionally a little bit ago. Seems stable at the moment though.

Then why does every comparison have the Camaro with a faster lap time.

Best thing about Ls motors is that a cam swap only entails ONE cam... so the entire install (titanium springs/retainers included) is as much as just buying the cams for our cars.

Unfortunately there are no cheap big power gains for this car like LS motors. I could only imagine what it would cost to get 4 cams, better springs and all , plus the install. The time cost alone would be crazy I'd think..

I'm starting to think the few that say forget everything and save up for F/I have it right...

I just swapped over from a 99 C5 LS1 bolts on tune ect... it was nasty, revved like a beast compared to my mustang, hell of a car...

I still highly prefer the new mustangs, just an all around MUCH better car... the trans are rattle traps, really hard to wrench on.. The engine bay looks like a birds nest.

You just have to plan to spend alot more money than an LS owner to keep up.. that simple. Just like with Imports. Its like an import style motor... ton of valves and cams.

That's advertised but it's been proved that the ws6 "ram air" don't add hp unless your going over 120 and even at that it's minimal.

All 98-02 f bodies and 97-04 corvettes (non Z06) will put 300 to the rear tires stock and have around 350 flywheel HP (rated at 305 non ram air or 320 ram air) Latter models will put slightly more down due to the LS6 intakes added in 2001. GM drastically underestimated their HP presumable to make the corvettes look better.

Yeah and I mean it's more of a handling package anyways. So it had wider rims and slightly better suspension so it's definitely worth it just no HP difference

I just sold my 98GT and as much as I am looking at 2011/12s right now, when I decide the time is right to get back into a sports car it very well might be a F body or 05/06 GTO. You just can't beat what you get for the price and I see like 20k mile garage queens going for $12k... Toss a cam/exhaust/bolt ons at it and you have an 11 second car easy.

Go with the ws6 they look better than the gto I think. GTO's are kind of shapeless but still really powerful

Downside to the Fbody is the interior it fkn sucks. This is where the gto shines.

But if you are like me and don't give a F about interior Fbody is the choice.
1st would be a 11-12 5.0
2nd Fbody
