Changing Diff Fluid

So it's about time for another change since my gear swap was a good bit of time ago but I can't find any solid instructions since I have an aftermarket diff cover.

It's the Steeda cover with fill and drain ports.

I know it's as easy as unbolting the drain plug, draining and cleaning the magnetic plug, then some thread sealant, then tighten for the drain.

Then open up the fill port and use the friction modifier first and then the oil.

I guess my question is for the people that have these diff covers: Were you able to do it straight from the bottle or did you need a fluid pump to reach the fill port?

Of course, if I'm missing anything, let me know. This would be the first time I've ever changed it myself.

I don't have the Steeda cover but I have the Factory aluminum finned diff cover that I installed when my car had about 3,600 miles on it and it has the fill and drain ports on the cover.

On my cover I had to use one of those fill hoses that you attach to the bottle that you turn the attachment to open and close the flow of oil. There was no enough room for me to just fill it from the bottle. I have since bought a fluid pump just for this at Autozone that I will use next time since the thing I was using still made a mess.

You can also still fill the rear end from the fill plug in the front of the pumpkin.

Gotcha, I hadn't taken a look under the car to judge the distance but I figured it'd be too tight. I'll pick up a fluid pump.

Thanks!
