Barrett Jackson just auctioned off the first gt 350 r for charity donated by Ford for diabetes foundation. Car went for 1 million. Holy cow!

Did you see the 66 Shelby Cobra Super Snake? Only one in existence and went 4.7 million.

Didn't sell, though. Reserve not met. Unless they struck a deal after it left the block and I turned it off.

I was hoping it would hit the reserve... I would have paid anything for that car. IMO its priceless because of its history. I'm not sure if they struck a deal after or not.

I thought that 69 GT500 Vert would go for more though.

I think that's awesome they do that, especially for diabetes. My daughter was diagnosed at 9 years old after suddenly losing 20 pounds and not being able to keep anything down for a week. We were worried sick and then hit with the diagnosis, it's like...why her?
Such a hard thing for a little one to have to deal with.
On a lighter note... Freakin amazing car!

Yes it must be very difficult. Seems like the kids handle things better than the parents.

I am amazed at what people are spending on cars at BJ this week. Just crazy!

Step-daughter was diagnosed 9 years ago at 14. She was complaining her legs hurt and was always drinking water like crazy. She was also very thin, but that was hereditarily normal so we didn't think anything about it. I thought about diabetes based on the leg pain and constant drinking. My wife brought a blood tester home from work and found she was in the upper 400s. Took her to the emergency room and was diagnosed.

Ron Pratte is a hell of a guy! He had his fun with his car collection and now a lot of it will go to charity.

What's up with the automatic transmission in that Super Snake though?!?
I kind of expected more from Carroll Shelby...

That car is an odd duck anyway. Probably had problems with the top loaders hanging with the torque it was putting out.

My God - the prices for just about every car at BJ was sky-high. Resto-Mods were blowing up.
I need a garage... and the Powerball #'s....

Even if I had the disposable income I would have never shelled out the coin on most of those rides. I just don't see the value for the money spent unless it's rare of course.

Me neither - those prices are ridiculous. So much for buying, but if I could build a few looks like there's $$$ to be made...

Most of those cars just pose. Kinda sad 25k in motor 5k in brakes etc. Etc. And you don't want to drive it. I get weird looks all the time at Home Depot with a load of lumber in my 67 big block El Camino. I just smile and say that's what it was made for!
