That says it right there. Why waste money on expensive brake pads and rotors if it won't be seeing the track

if not going to track brembos are nice but you wont notice as much as looks every day. Either keep eye out or just go with one you like to look at better.

Get the 2013. If you really want/need the Brembo brakes you can add them on a later date. I used the 2005-14 Ford Racing brake upgrade kit, part number: M-2300-S on my base model ‘14 GT. The front Brembo calipers did not clear my stock 18” wheels, but a different set of wheels took care of that problem.

You can find used Brembo calipers and rotors relatively cheap. I've seen several listen on eBay for 600 to 700 bucks. Don't worry about the rears, they're the same rotors/calipers.

I'm the opposite, I hate the smiling lower grille of the 13/14 cars, the 10-12 cars look pissed off. And the 2012 comes in Lava Red... mmmm...

That said, you can change out the tail lights just fine and the brakes are also something that are not super hard to change. Just takes money. If you just like the look of the 13/14 better though, get that. Like was already posted there are a ton of brake upgrade kits.

it's easier to swap out brakes rather than the exterior bits....but I think "Brembo" helps in the resale/cool factor. As mentioned you don't need Brembos for DD but they are cool to have.
