Thoughts on the BBK Varitune mufflers and other variable flow (noise) mufflers

Hi all. Just curious what everyone thinks of this style of muffler. The ability to change the sound is intriguing. The GM style NPP on Vettes and Camaros, use a butterfly to give additional flow (noise). The Varitune has the benefit of being able to adjust the noise to your liking. The open cork(I don't know what else to call it) flow helps performance a little bit, but it still flows through the muffler as well. There is no true straight pipe ability in any current muffler design that I know of.

Would you put a Varitune on your ride because of the ability to adjust to your liking? I know crawling under the car is a pain, as is getting the turns of the cork shaft the same. It's funny but it seems like every style of exhaust cutout, whether butterfly ypipe, butterfly in the muffler or Varitune style is basically a controlled exhaust leak.

What say you?

I have them and they are great. I bought them 2 days after I bought the car. I keep them wide open but have the option to close them for long road trips without the volume.

Do you mind crawling under the car to make adjustments? and is there a noticeable sound difference from closed to open?

So any other opinions on the BBK Varitune or other variable flow/noise mufflers or cutouts?
