motor ticking

ok im new here not sure if im posting this in the right place. sorry if im not.


hi my name is pete i have a 2013 sherrod gt with a sct super tuner a cold air with a cobra jet intake hooks headers and magnaflow x pipe and mufflers. i was driving on my local expressway for aprox 100 miles when i reached my exit i noticed a loud ticking from the motor. brought it to ford and they said lose valve and needs replace ok then i go to check on it and my motor is ripped down almost to the block. when is a good time to say new motor? any suggestions

When the compression gets to low. Your just having valvetrain problems, not that big of deal unless the valve was slapping the piston the whole 100 miles.

my hat is off to my ford dealer. car fixed and running better than new. the had to replace the hydraulic lifter for the exhaust cam. and also replace a loose lifter. i was amazed at how quick it was fixed they had it down to the block in 3 hrs. anyhow its back and ready to run. ***MUSTANG LIFE***

Nice! Glad they got it all fixed up. Just curious, did you foot the bill for all this work or did they cover it under warranty? I'd be amazed if they covered it under warranty with a tune and mods.
