It's funny because I have DM'd guys on IG asking about their lights and asking them who did them. I have had a few guys tell me they came from HIDGUY, but they quickly tell me they wouldn't recommend them and although they got theirs quick it's because HIDGUY knows they are popular (they all had thousands of followers). I even had another guy recommend another company as he was disappointed in how HIDGUY treated people he had recommended buy from him.

If I were to drop the coin on any new lighting I would visit "the lighting firm" and purchase from them.

Oscar (Dante is gone), is working with me however he is asking for me to pay to ship the broken part back even though its HIDGUY's product that's broken with no user error.

Regardless, I'll update you guys on the situation.

Lastly, I got an interesting message from someone who tells me they have inside knowledge of the happenings with HIDGUY. Even if its B.S. there's some plausible info there that's likely close to truth. I'll let you guys decide. The guy that is being referred to is "Oscar" (https://www.facebook.com/hidguy?fref=ts and https://www.facebook.com/okalf.le?fref=ts).

Here it is:

"First off, don't be fooled by luxtek. It's still hms. Second, you might get ur warranty fast or it might take a long time. Depends on if he feels it's worth it or not. He really doesn't care much if it isn't making him money.

There are three people that actually work at that company, him and two people that do shipping, he might have one of the shipping people answering phones or emails. The reason why it took so long for ur bumper lights and other people on ur thread is because he has half the parts and no income to actually purchase the other half.

He looks at builds as up front loans to pay his employees and then will spend the money you paid on other things. He had over 100+ builds and that's not including parts or bumper lights. I was let go because no income we bring made as people were starting to catch on to what was going on. He has easily 20 people a day emailing or trying to. Call wondering where there items are, some are huge ticket items. He has customers that he has taken their money and never provide product for and been threatened to be sued numerous times. He lies to people saying that their headlights or products are being buIlt and not even close or hasn't even started. This is months on down the road.

He blocks people on Instagram if they make an up roar. He does not care about ur business, just wants to take ur money and then give excuses as to why u don't have products. He as a business owner is rarely there and only works on headlights when he wants or feels up to it. He has zero money to give refunds because he had spent it all that is why he tells u no refunds on mod shop items or says it's almost done when u want a refund or cancel the order without the order even being started. He will print shipping for you to give the illusion that ur items are done and they will never be scanned blaming it on the USPS has loss the package. He only answers really emails if they are about sales and will put issues or other problem emails on the back burner.

He thinks that you have to shut up and listen to him because he has ur money. If you put a charge back in...he will call you to tell you that they are ready to ship, he can't ship until you release the charge back, at that time he will start your build.he lies to all his customers and he has orders over a year old. After you posted ur thread he lost a lot of business and sales went down hill, he runs the Instagram and has his hand into everything.

He will tell you that the business is busy and can't get back to you in time, meanwhile he is sometimes not there or stares at his computer blankly. Oh and another thing, if you have no followers on Instagram or anything like that he won't care you complain If you have a super small following, he had told me numerous times before that people would post but they had like 100 followers.

You need to spread this immediately. Do not mention my name but I'll answer anything you have or have other customers of his contact me if they have questions"

There has to be somebody out there that can do all those headlight mods with in a reasonable amount of time? I really do want the angel/demon eyes, halos and color shift LED bars. I almost gave Dante close to a grand to get my headlights done.

Not worth a grand man. Seems we all need to try to find someone local that has skills in this field.

Which is why you don't wait and why companies like this stall. They know once it hits 60 they're good. If it's not getting resolved by the 30 day mark, they're screwing you.

He likely is getting sued or someone with enough connections has an investigator on him. In any event hopefully this guy is imprisoned for fraud.

If you waited too long to file a CC chargeback or used a debit/bank transfer on paypal you're kinda screwed.

Again, if you read the thread, I keep harping on using a CC and making sure you file a fraudulent charge notice with your card company/bank before the deadline to do so. Places like HIDguy know its expensive to actually do anything legally and if they can just string you along long enough they'll be able to ignore you with no actual consequences.

Paypal has buyer protection. I've never had a problem getting money back from PayPal. The first thing they require from the seller is a tracking number. If that can't be provided, then the buyer should be reimbursed.
