Advantages of the California Special

In the market for a gently used 2013-14 Coyote for under 30K and noticed today that the '14 California Specials have begun to dip into that range. Is anybody familiar with the GT/CS and what would be the advantages and disadvantages of taking that over a vanilla GT or a premium. This particular model is a white auto without the glass roof.

I have a 14 GT/CS convertible. It looks different and there is the rare factor as not as many were made. That's about it.

You get a better looking mustang than the regular GT, and it will hold its value a little better. All it is is a cosmetic package, no performance gains, which by no means makes it a bad car. It has a better looking body than a regular GT...

A 2011/2012 base model is a waywaywaywayway better bang for your hard earned buck. $20k with 20k miles on them, seen it plenty of times. If you need seats and brakes... upgrade to some premium leather aftermarket seats whenever you want and brakes are a direct bolt on upgrade too and doing those is as simple as a brake change.

The rest is all just gimmicky stuff that adds weight and doesn't make you go any faster.

Only "Type S" or "Type R" badges add HP!

My father has a 2014 triple black convertible CS. Its just cosmetic stuff that makes it different. I absolutely love the CS spoiler.

Only real benefit is better resale aside from the cosmetic parts. Although it doesn't add performance of you like it go for it. Same can be said for paying for a premium model over base as it doesn't add any performance. At the end of the day you have to drive the car so if you like it go for it.
