Not a hellcat fan. I keep seeing these record numbers but all of the local ones are pigs. Refuse to run my vert and bring out a list of excuses.

Just not impressed for the money.

Hellcat is brutal to drive. Unrefined like a viper. Too much work. Cars should feel like an extension of youself not something your wrestling with for dear life. I have never drove a gt500 sadly but have driven a gt350 and its 3x as fun as a hellcat. Not as fast straight but spanks its butt in the turns. Top dog hands down is the corvette z06. It whoops them all in drag, twisties and fun/ease of driving.mind you these 'drags' were just on airport runways impromptu 3 honk go's

The Challenger has consistently finished a distant third in every pony car comparison test I've seen. It is too big, too heavy to corner very well, and too heavy to stop quickly. I do agree that it is a good tribute design (I once owned a '72 Challenger with a 318), but really --- it contributes nothing to "modern" design progress like the new Mustang does.
In short, it's a pig in anything but a straight line..........but it IS a 707 HP pig!
It takes a good set of drag slicks and lots of practice launching the Hellcat, as every race I've seen, the traction is very limited all the way through 1st and 2nd gears.
If you are considering a new Corvette and can stomach the new design, then there really is no choice here. The Corvette is light years better than any pony car.

If I ever decide that I want to drive a big ol' boat, I would get a Hellcat Charger rather than a Challenger. They're quicker than the Challenger and you can comfortably take all of your friends and family for a ride... And scare the crap out of them!

The new Corvette is spanking some "super" cars on the track according to Car And Driver.

I couldn't afford the Vette, not the purchase price or the maintenance/insurance costs. So far I'm been very happy, and impressed, by my 2015 Gt. It's fast enough for me. I already got a ticket! Ha.

Me too........our last 'Vette was a 2008, and it always felt loosy goosy in the body and frame. The seats were too soft, and waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down there when trying to get in and out. Hard on this old guy's knees.
The GT is Goldilocks territory for me...it's just right. And as hard as it is to fathom, our new Mustang has more HP than our 2008 'Vette!!

I drove the 2015 v6 challenger i know is not a hellcat but it wasnt bad around the corners, also drove the v6 mustang and the challenger wasnt bad compared to it. I would love to have the new z06 to any of these cars but i dont see the z06 being the greatest daily and seeing it having alot of blind spots

14' Gt 500 is my pick.
I'd be shedding to many tires with both options.

IF I was forced to pick from the Dodge lineup it would be a Charger.

$90K for a Dodge???? HAHA! I don't care how much power...
If you want a Hennessey car their 4 door SS is still for sale... $65K for 600 horses.

I would be jumping all over that Shelby... Comes down to what YOU decide. Test drive them...

I agree -- that is just stupid money. Especiallly since Dodge has said that they are going to increase production of the Hellcat engine for the next model year in order to "keep up with demand."
$90K..........what is that, full MSRP plus $20,000++?
This time next year, they will be DISCOUNTING this same car to get it off the lot. To pay $90,000 now would be to tempt fate and $50,000 depreciation in less than two years....OUCH!

Yeah i agree 90 grand for the hellcat is so stupid and every dealership around me has them up for 90k its so stupid, the only good thing the hellcat has for it for that price is the green colour isnt being used in 2016 but other than that its not worth 90

No matter how much cash I get I'd still have my Mustang. Would just have to buy another one, or 3... lol
I'm still sticking with the Shelby!

Have you given a Boss Mustang a thought? I know they have less power but owning a Boss, well it's pretty cool to me. They are a shiny penny but not nearly a shiny as $60K+...

Could also buy a 13-14 GT and build the heck out of it...

You can pickup a very nice low mileage 2014 GT500 with all the track options. Basically a new car for around $60k. That $30k difference can get you a ton of additional HP and suspension toys. For me I would rather get the Shelby, especially for the difference in $$. I like the 13/14 GT500's much better than the boxy sedan look of the Challenger. Hell Cat is a much better choice in the Challenger, than the Charger. But its the GT500 for me. 821a with SVT Trackpak, and Glasstop. Unique car and will be in demand in the future.

Im sure the higher price on that Hellcat is mainly because it's being sold in Canada..
I've seen a lot of ridiculous pricing on autotrader.ca

I wish they would make a "hellcat" viper. They've already released info on the jeep variant, so maybe the vipers turn. It'd definitely be a worthy alternative, to the V10, engine for it.

When it comes back maybe they'll make a baby viper with a V8. So that might help with sales. Or I'm just dreaming.
