Dyno results for GT350 and 6th gen Camaro

Well ... both cars have finally been dyno'd.

This is not a direct comparison, just a general idea of what to expect as the cars were dyno'd on different days, different locations and different dynos. Still ... here are the numbers.

2015+ GT350 DYNOJET RESULTS:
467 hp (wheel) @ 7,200 rpm
374 lb-ft (wheel) @ 4,900 rpm

Hear the Shelby GT350’s Flat-Plane Crank V-8 on the Dyno

2016 Camaro SS

405 lb-ft @ 4600 rpm
makes 350 lb-ft from 2000 - 6000 rpm.

First Dyno! 2016 Camaro SS Makes All of Its Claimed 455 hp/455 lb-ft, and More!

For comparison.
2014 Camaro Z/28

Only 7200 RPM for the 5.2L? You'd think they'd really make it scream. Doesn't it have a 9K redline or something?

I was thinking the same thing. I would think it would make its peak power around 8,000 rpm or so but I guess we will have to wait to see the dyno power curve.

It seems to carry it's power well from 7200 - 8200 rpm. Looks like it lost about 10 whp in that last 1000 rpm.

The surge around 3200 rpm is interesting, looks like the same type of hit that happens with Vtech.

Just found it on their site

Looks like power tapers off after 7200 rpm. I would think a future aftermarket tune could fix that.

Motortrend put the Z/28 and GT350 on the dyno on the same dyno on the same day.

The results at the tire.....

Shelby GT350 467 hp 374 lb-ft
Camaro Z/28 469 hp 438 lb-ft
Shelby GT350R 471 hp 376 lb-ft

If the dyno numbers for the stock 2015 GT represent the standard decrease of 15% to 17% from the crank HP, the stock GT is closer to 445 to 450 HP at the crank...............NICE!

The 2015 Mustang GT is rated at 435. I'd say it's putting down exactly what it should be.

Also, on the Bama numbers for the Mustang GT, they are about 10whp higher than almost all other places I have came across.
