Rather than supercharging the V8, the additional power has been achieved thanks to stainless steel long-tube headers, a stainless exhaust mid-pipe and high-flow catalytic converters.

The performance upgrades are then completed with an ECU upgrade.

Other special components included in the HPE575 package are custom badges, serial-numbered plaques in the interior and engine bay and a serial-numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by John Hennessey.

Just 100 units of the HPE575 will be produced for the 2016 model year, each priced at $6,950 with a 3 year warranty.
I'm betting any good, experienced Mustang tuner can do the same thing with the same parts for less money.

Totally agree!
Well maybe with the exception of the warranty.
I wonder how a business gets away with breaking the federal laws on replacing catalytic converters.

Interesting....

I didn't think you could even order a GT350 with out the Track or Technology pack as all of the one's I've seen on dealer sites, ebay, autotrader, etc... all had one of those options.

Guess what?! I found ONE that doesn't have either and its sticker is the <$50k as promised: Ford Mustang GT350 | eBay

You can see the sticker says "SPECIAL ORDER". There are 2 retracted bids of $55k, I'm sure once they realized it was a $50k car, not a $57-58K car they retracted their bids.

But its good to see that Ford is willing to actually make them.

I've seen a few cars with 2,400 & 2,500 build #'s now, so I'm guessing they're probably getting close to 2,600+ GT350's built now.

At this pace they might make 5,000 units per year, similar to GT500 production.

I was estimating it to be more like Boss 302 production at around 4,000 units / year.

Tons of them for sale on ebay. Looks like the price people are actually willing to pay now is around $60-$63k. At least, that's what they're being bid up to, some aren't actually selling b/c the reserve isn't met.

That lines up with what my local dealer offered me. (MSRP + $5k)

Funny thing, is now I'm not willing to pay that. 6 months ago they offered me MSRP + $15k, then a couple of months later they offered me MSRP + $10k.

If they had offered me MSRP + $5k initially, I'd have paid it to be one of the first to get a car. Now I'm just going to sit back & wait to see how low they go. I've kind of decided that I think I just want to wait until the 2017's come out and get a newer model year car.

This has got to be one of the cheapest GT350's that's sold.

Ford Mustang GT350 | eBay

$52,900.

Remember this does not have EITHER track pack or tech pack.

So its the base $49,995 car.

I might do the same thing... wait for 2017 models to come out in Sept'ish.

I'm thinking they're gong to make min. 4,000 & maybe up to 5,000 GT350's this year. Anybody have an educated guess or some sales/production # from somewhere?

Here's chassis # 2,505: Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350 | eBay just sold on ebay.

That jives with the information I've seen.

We're half way in to the Sept 2015-Aug 2016 deliveries. And I've been seeing chasis #'s 2,600's recently. So x 2 = 5,200 or close to the 5,500 total (with R's)

I've also heard that production at the factory is over 3,000... which puts it at roughly 500 per month of production. Or 500 x 11 months of production time = 5,500.

Also that's around the GT500 production #'s, which was a similar price point. And since they're not making them both like they did with Boss302 & GT500, they need 5,500+ for the high end buyers.

Though to be honest, I'm thinking more & more of getting a base Corvette for just a little more money.

I was a bit surprised that Car & Driver preferred the Vette (Z51 over the GT350 track pack).

I have not driven and would gladly trade my V6 for either....
