An awesome car for sure...........but at my advanced age, I am glad to have the base suspension and a convertible top to enjoy it with.
What's most amazing to me is that Ford was able to bring the GT350 to market at such a reasonable price point. It's a performance bargain any way you look at it.

Interesting Hennessey Upgrade for GT350

Hennessey's HPE575 package manages to produce 575 hp at 7,700 rpm and 511 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm, compared to the 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of the standard model. Rather than supercharging the V8, the additional power has been achieved thanks to stainless steel long-tube headers, a stainless exhaust mid-pipe and high-flow catalytic converters.

The performance upgrades are then completed with an ECU upgrade.

Other special components included in the HPE575 package are custom badges, serial-numbered plaques in the interior and engine bay and a serial-numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by John Hennessey.

Just 100 units of the HPE575 will be produced for the 2016 model year, each priced at $6,950 with a 3 year warranty.

not knowing lots about this...it seems like a good sized bump (esp in torque) for minimal parts. I wonder how much more is available.

No joke. Asking price was about $100k. I just looked at salesmen's desks, laughed, and said "y'all are insane."

Don't care if it's a 1 of 1; that thing will not sell for 50k added to MSRP. It's not worth 100 grand. They'd be an idiot to buy it.
Only chance of it MIGHT happen is if it's the first one or last one of the 137. And I doubt it is either.

I believe you are all missing the point here...people with this kind of cash to buy a car like this, give zero $*****s about the added MSRP. They just want to get their ego stroked and make panties wet when they park one of these things somewhere.

If people weren't paying the price, they wouldn't be marked up. The dealership would be dumb not to mark it up when there are people willing to pay the marked up price.

Isn't that what we all bought a mustang for in the first place?

Which is also why a dealer near me has a brand new 14 roush stage 3 still on their lot. Been listed at 75k for 2 years.

Some dealers just like to buy showroom eye candy that's kinda for sale. For ridiculous prices of course; since they don't want their showroom pieces to leave. Jack up the prices so they stay!

Are they part of the recall on airbags?? If so - they can't sell them till they have been repaired and you might as well just leave the pricetag where it is. Then you can drop a bit off when they have been fixed and can be sold and wow - they lowered the price - some idiots will grab them up. LOL

Yep it's got the recall, but it doesn't matter. The car is a dealer decoration.

I've been watching them.

Saw a 2015, sell for $93k on ebay... but it was one of the very limited edition 137 units for the launch year.

I've been watching dealers. They started out asking $20k more over MSRP... ie $78k for the 2016's and not even being able to keep them in stock at that price.

Now that about 2,000 of them have been made and "flooded" the market. They're sitting on a lot of showroom floors with the $20k markup (still asking $78k). But the ones selling are actually at $68k or less now. And there's quite a few dealers & ebay listing with Buy it now prices of $68k.

The showrooms are filling up now (vs. not being able to keep them in stock), and they're going to be selling at MSRP very soon. The demand for a $58k+ Mustang is not that great. No matter how fast it is.

I'm going to start shopping for one, if I can get a great trade in on my '14 GT Premium Convertible and MSRP or less for the GT350 I'll probably make the jump.

There's also something else that should kill the insane dealer mark ups..... the GT500.
When they take that same 5.2L Voodoo engine slap a supercharger on it for 700+ hp, people will forget about the GT350. Especially since most Mustang buyers are more 1/4 mile guys that like that GT500's, over the Boss/GT350 track type car.
