Engine swap dilemma

I am new to the late model mustang crowd. I have a 1999 GT and recently came across two engines I'm considering for an upgrade. One is a 4.6 1999 Cobra engine complete with 6sp tranny and complete wiring harness with ecm. The other is a 5.4 Lincoln Navigator 32 valve engine. It too has the harness and ecm. Was wondering, how difficult of a swap is either and which would be better? From what I've found HP is about the same. Thanks for any comments.

This is my daily driver and not looking to make it a street beast. Just would like a little added extra to shut down the local rice boys and their bumble bee cars

Of the 2 the Cobra engine is drastically easier. You don't even need the harness. The Navi engine is going to be way more advanced and require some custom stuff done. I would not go that route.

That said, if this is your daily and you've never done a swap before (which I am assuming since you asked the question about the Navi engine)... get a beater or have a mode of transportation setup other than this car because you will run into a few things.

That's what I was thinking as well. Will I need the cobra ecm or will my original ecm work?
