Inside edge of tires are feathering.

I've been getting a loud hollow roaring sound again as these tires have worn. I've had issues with this sound since the car has had 5,000 miles on it and now I'm at 19,800 miles. The dealer has told me it's tire noise. I put some different Mustang 19" wheels and like new factory Pirelli tires on it when the car had around 11,000 miles on it.

Yesterday I was looking at the tires and I noticed that the inside edge of all four tires has a feathered look to it where the tread on the edge is higher in one spot than another. I had the tires rotated when the car had 15,000 miles on it.

Is this caused by an alignment issue? I have an appointment at the dealer soon to get the tires rotated and have them check the alignment.

Have you guys had any alignment issues with your cars? This is on a 14 GT. Thanks.

Wayne

Yes that sort of tire wear is caused by the toe being out of spec.
