Your Favorite DIY or Free Mod

The $150 parts modification thread inspired me to ask; what have you done to improve the aesthetics, performance, handling, etc that cost nothing (or almost nothing).

Some of you guys have fabricated and engineered parts that are impressive. At times out experiments backfire and end up costing money that would not have been spent if we had just left things alone. I don't thinks anyone here can leave a car without at least one personal touch.

What free, or dirt cheap fit mod have you done that was worth the effort?

What year Mustang? What engine?

Pulling the slack out of the gas pedal is the best free item on our cars, another one I use is re adjusting the windshield wipers so they sit lower making them much less visible from within the car.

I came up with a way to completely kill advancetrac without spending the $350 for a Boss 302R ABS module. All you have to do on a 2011-14 Mustang (any engine, they all have the same ABS harness) is depin number five from the connector.

Proving to my fellow racers that the disdain that some GT drivers have for V6 drivers is unfounded, one results archive at a time since 2013.

All of the exterior snakes are hand painted, didn't like what was available on the net.

I removed the welds from brake cylinder cover & painted them semi-gloss black on both cars.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you remove all the chrome bezels? I've thought about refinishing those too.

Do have to say this has been one of my favorite mods I've seen. Saw you post this a while back and was very impressed with the outcome.

Painting valve covers and engine shroud before the SC. Plenty of pics of those.
Opening up an entire row on each side of the honeycomb grill insert for more flow.
Adding this tiny detail that most ppl think is dirt! Lol

I didn't like what was available for aftermarket air boxes. Modified my stock one to allow a 140mm MAF to pass through it.

........More painted snakes.
