I called to place a order the other day to purchase a adaptor flange for my 7.5 to 8.8 conversion. The girl that answers the phone (after I'm put on hold while she searches)tells me they don't carry any parts for that. So I then give her the part number from there web site of what I want and politely ask if there is someone there that is knowledgeable about something like this as I have never done it and so she says no prob and transfers me.
Then next guy tells me same thing nope sorry never heard of what you need and we don't carry anything like that. So I then give him the part # again from there web site. And he pulls it up and reads it and then says oh yea sounds like what you need.
Thank you may I please order it?
Shipping was fast and they were very nice but I think who ever they had there with knowledge that made them awesome was not around when I called. And dang what the heck with all the repetitive emails, I think I get 3 a day and never a coupon worth a crap.
So lastly I ask for this forms discount and they tell me nope. They don't do that unless I get ahold of his customer service rep. by email and have him send it to this site operator and then get him to give it to me all to save 2 or 3%. Well I guess this is all normal stuff I have come expect from most web based business I don't know why I expected more from them. But I still like the videos.
That makes sense. I'm still new here so I'll get it figured out sooner or later. But 6% sounds much better than what the American muscle guy was telling me.
It was Alex but I don't think there is one now. If so, I have not heard who it is.
American Muscle was and I say was the best place in America to get information and buy Mustang stuff.
Ever since they got into Ford F-150 stuff, The mustang stuff is put on the back burner.
It is a shame, but that is just the way it is.
My opinion if it is worth anything is they put the good people on the F-150 part and hiring new people on the Mustang part and they don't know much about Mustang or the Parts they sell. I may be wrong but what else could it be.
I'm really afraid they are going to mix the F-100 into the best all Mustang show "EVER"
That would be a tragedy. Ronnie
I used to use my ME code with no issue. I went to make a purchase last week and it no longer works. I talked to 2 dif reps and both were completely clueless. I've bought well over $1000 worth of stuff from that site, but will not use them again after the horrible lack of reps with a clue.

Got tired of waiting for code here, so I called today and ordered wheel kit and louvers and the rep entered his 6% code for me ?
Now waiting for order...so far, so good....
All of my past experiences with American Muscle have been good ones

I posted a sticky thread on the American Muscle forum section of this site, to inform who you need to send a PM to. It's AMWILL.
And to the OP, it's hard to hire anyone with automotive skillsets to be telephone agents. That type of job most likely does not pay much more (if at all) above the minimum wage. So if you are savy in the way of automotive skills, you will most likely move to a better paying job.
Just like the clerks behind an automotive parts store; they ask you the year, make, model, and engine of your vehicle, then the part you want. It better be in the database, as you may not get much further than that!
I once used to buy automotive parts from a privately owned parts store in North Carolina. This guy would spend 20 minutes looking up, calling, and locating a $2.00 gasket for me. His son worked there too. His son was a college grad, and used to tease his dad. The dad always got the last shot though, saying "you may have a college degree, but you work for me, and I didn't graduate from high school!"
Ronnie (member here), was another good parts person. Met him years ago when he worked at Millers, a Harley-Davidson parts and accessories establishment. He too would go out of his way to find a part for you, and even suggest a better one.
Bottom line? Do your own homework, have a part number whenever possible (easier to do with the internet these days), and be pleasant and polite with those behind the counter or phone.
I totally agree with always being pleasant and polite, but I will also add that it gets more and more frustrating when companies seem to under-value customer service (which is an epidemic these days).
I'm a frequent AM customer and have contacted them twice this past 2 weeks to try to get an answer on my ME code no longer working. Both times the rep had no clue (which is fine) but their lack of wanting to help me resolve my issue was a letdown. I even politely asked the second guy if he could take down my info and pass it on to someone that could look into it and get back to me... he seemed put off and to no surprise I haven't heard from anyone.
I don't even care if I don't get a discount anymore, I would just like to see some genuine customer appreciation and an effort to get me an answer, and that starts at the top of any company.
I have been looking to LMR and ebay for my Pony parts now.
The coupons they send in their emails are a joke... $10 off an order of $250... really? Yeah that's definitely going to persuade me into placing an order
I reached out with some questions on wheels. Two days ago and still awaiting a reply. Guess I go old school and pick up the phone. Been doing a lot of reading on opinions and I must say I'm reading more negatives than positives in recent dealings with them.
I've never had an issue with them. I mainly use them because the head quarters in like a half hour from me. So I get my shipments really really quick.
But I haven't really had a time where I had to call them and ask questions. I know a few people that work there or have worked there. And I think it depends on who you get on the phone. The group I know know their stuff. But there's also quite a few kids that don't know anything or care to know anything
I wanted a set of sequential taillights but kept hearing the trouble people were having with there's. So I ordered a set from monzter. They are great and made in USA not cheap China ones. Plus they were less expensive.
