Anybody know how strict the laws of Ohio are?

I live in a suburb of columbus and I really want to get an off road x-pipe for my 2004 v6. Anybody know how easily I could pull it off?

Re: Anybody know how strict the laws of Ohio are?

most are just a direct bolt in (if you have a gt dual exhaust)..........it can probably be swapped in a few hrs. mine took about 1/2 day, but it also involved some custom piping and welding b/c i'm a dumbass

it will probably be a pain in the *** to keep swapping it though, but from personal experience, a v6 with an o/r x or h still isnt really all that loud compared to a v8. most wont know you have an catless pipe on there unless you run some really unrestrictive mufflers and keep it at WOT

Yeah but do you think I would ever have to do an emissions test? Because the county I live in doesnt require emissions tests and I think only 6 countys require tests.

Then do it if you dont have emissions testing. They might fail it for safety, thats how it is in parts of Illinois.

all an emissions test is (at least around here) is a plug into the diagnostic port. a tuner can turn off the o2 sensors and you wont pull a code when they run the test.

they dont climb under the car down here and check

thats a matter of opinion. you do have to be real careful on what mufflers you run with an catless pipe on a v6, but it can be done right.....i think my exhaust sounds decent for a 6

ive yet to ever hear any no cat application on a non built/cammed v6 stang that sounded anywhere near good. It is opinion but to me loud and high pitched and even fire doesnt equate to good sounding.
