Performance advice... let me know what you think.

Hey all. I am taking my 07 v6 stang to the track in april and need some help. I have a 1000.00 budget for mods between now and April. Does anyone have advice for the best bang for the buck? Currently I have a cold air intake and a power flash tuner, other than that she's pretty much stock. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lando

Re: Performance advice... let me know what you think.

For road racing I would suggest brakes. That will be the first thing to go. Upgraded Brake Pads, SS Lines, and high-temp brake fluid flush. If you have 17" or larger rims, you can upgrade to the GT spec rotors. GT rotors, upgraded pads, SS lines, and brake fluid can be done for ~ 1/2 of your budget.

I would suggestion shocks/struts/CC plates, but if this is your first outing, target the brakes first and then if you like it you can dig into the other stuff.

Suspension upgrades will help on both the 1.4 mile track, and the road course racing. Upper and lower control arms, shocks, springs... and like someone else stated experience, the more you go the better numbers you will have

Your car has really good power but getting it on the ground is the hard part. Rear suspension might be a good direction
