Life of a Mustang

Hey all
I am considering getting my first Mustang. Looking at models 05 and later. I am looking to buy a used stang for less than 10k. I am finding cars that have between 70k to 100k miles on them. What I need to know is how long can I have reliable performance from the Mustang if properly maintained?

Should I try to get an extended warranty (service plan) from the dealer? Is it worth it?

they are great cars, don't listen to all the idiots who say American cars fall apart.. they have no clue. If correctly taken care of they will go a very long way.

I hate it when people say that about cars
Its true for any make car that as long as you maintain it properly they can last a long time

The reliability is going to be based on the previous owner I would say. I agree with the above comment, as long as the car is well maintained it will last forever. The problem is making sure your pony wasn't ridden hard before and not given TLC.

Re: Life of a Mustang

Go out and veiw as many Stangs as time permits. You will know when you see it. I advise one from a piivate owner. You will get a sense of how well the car was maintained by talking to the owner. Any decent owner has complete repair records from day one! Note the condition of the Stang. Is their garage clean and in order or is it a junk yard. This has always worked for me.
