Need some help

I just bought a brand new 2010 v6mutang last year, I keep adding stuff to it but I need ideas for an exhaust. I dont have 2 grand to spend on it so I'm looking for cheaper ideas? Possially just a new muffler?

Hey, I've got a 02 with the 3.8l of course it won't sound like yours being the 3.7l I think that's what motor u have or the 4.0l but I went with flowmasters 40 series cut the cats and a custom x-pipe and dumps and it's sounds really good. I payied a guy off of craigslist 20 bucks for the flowmasters and then took them to the muffler shop and had then make me an x- pipe and weld on the flowmastes in all I spend about $140.00 bucks.

Re: Need some help

The 2010 and Flowmasters just don't seem to muster that magic like days past.
Listen to setups on youtbe and check out Borla, GTA, Cherry Bomb "Vortex"

Get the Bassani Xhaust (duel pipe made for the 2010 V6). Check it out on YouTube. Sounds pretty sweet!

I have the 2010 v6 myself. Magnaflow makes a dual exhaust conversion kit. I purchased mine open box on eBay for 410$. Then I purchased a Roush rear valance for 175 (if you arnt aiming for looks I'm sure you can buy a used 2011 valance for cheap) if you cant install the kit yourself I would suggest not buying it because it can cost up too 500$ according to your local mechanic, but it's without a doubt the best sounding and looking your v6 will EVER be.

Re: Need some help

I got mine from newtakeoff.com for the 2010, but they no longer sell the duals kit for 2010 just 05-09. That said, they will sell the kit without the mufflers for around $260. the only difference is the mufflers for 05-09 are shorter than the 2010 because of the body change. Then go to either craigslist or ebay to try and find gt mufflers they go cheap ($50-60 for both)

Re: Need some help

I bought the Magnaflow y pipe kit then custom swapped the y for a true dual X pipe. Sounds Tremendous but not overwhelming at low RPMs. PM me for more info if you like.

Thanks for all the help, I'm a college student so I'm trying to stay under the 350$ range.. I can do all the work myself so I'm not worried about that. I just don't wanna go and buy the 30$ glasspac and have it sound like junk

Try replacing your current muffler with a Pypes Violator, you'll be pleased. It's under $200. You don't gain any power by going to larger pipes or dual exhaust, unless you get it tuned and have headers and at least port match it etc.

Re: Need some help

borla stinger or ATAK from borla, great brand and sound... a little costly but you get better quality parts (wont rust)

I was one of the first people that they shipped the 2011 muffler too. i was a little upset but they made it right so Kudos for NTO.
I went with pypes x-pipe mids and their pro street mufflers. it does the job for a daily driver. do your research. the pypes tend to drone a little tho, but i dig that. I also have some FRPP's if i feel like being a little obnoxious. Haven't even put them on yet.
