Painting plastic parts

Just curious, does anyone have past experience with painting there after market parts they put onto the car? I.E. Rear valance, side skirts, chin spoiler. I have a roush rear valance right now and im buying a stillen chin spoiler and if i sand it down and put stock paint on it that'd they would blend in and look alot better. Feel free to give any sugestions/comments and please photos of your work!

Re: Painting plastic parts

Just make sure you have the right kind of primer/ sealer... other wise rock chips or even bugs can peel that nice looking paint right off... I've done a couple body kits and they turned out all right. just more thin coats make your success rate dramatically improve... Good luck to ya post some pics when your don't love to see how it turns out

Re: Painting plastic parts

i work at sherwin williams and we tell every one clean, dull, and dry. sand it, wipe it down, and make sure its dry!!! Be patient! that is the key. never rush painting. Like shanes said, thing coats FTW
