Need help deciding exhaust ideas.

Hey guys, I have an v6 07 mustang. I want to put a new exhaust on it but was told that it would sound like crap since its a v6. Well, i pulled next to another stang that was a v6 and had a different exhaust on it with tips and it sounded pretty clean. I was impressed.

The questions i have are if i where to replace jus the exhaust on it which brand should i go with? And, i read somewhere on here that i should change it to a dual exhaust and replace everything. Cat back and all. Im wondering if anyone has done that on theyre v6 and if they thought it was worth it?

Thanks for the help...

Re: Need help deciding exhaust ideas.

I haven't done this yet, but there are a good amount of reputable brands out their I'm sure some people can tell you what they have gone with, but if you are more worried about it sounding good then I would definately go with an H piep instead of an X pipe, In general Hpipes are better sounding although dont get 100% performance out of them, but either way it will be an improvement over the stock y pipe.

Nice. Looks good too. So did you have to buy a new bottom bumper for that set up. Cause on my stang i jus have a cut out for one exhaust. And how much did it cost you?

Thats cool, it didnt set you back too bad. Did you have your local dealership install it or did you install it?

Thanks alot. I really appreciate your input. I think i might do exaclty what you did. Jus wasnt sure if it would sound good comin from a v6. Plus i would need a new bumper for the dual exhaust. But that shouldnt be too hard for me to figure out.

I'm tryin to think... I've only seen his car twice and it's the 2011 v6 dub edition. I just noticed the name on the exhaust when I looked on the back

I'm almost positive it came with dual holes since it was the special dub edition.

Re: Need help deciding exhaust ideas.

Bumper on that Stang above is the Roush rear valence...you can find it on their page.

I had the Magnaflow y pipe kit put on my car then I took out the Y pipe and traded it for a Custom X-pipe setup I kept the mufflers and the sound is tremendous. I often get stopped at shows and told about how great my exhaust sounds.

I also just had my stock rear bumper trimmed rather then getting a new part that also came out great look at my pics to see for yourself. The whole setup cost me $600 total In CA.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

-JD
