Re: Turbo choices

I've been looking for forced induction options myself. These are the best kits I've come across.

I however decided in the end to go with a custom nitrous setup and if you really want speed without breaking the bank I recommend it. I've just this week installed a new BBK forged Cam to handle a shot and the kit with A-pillar gauges is scheduled 2 weeks from now.(so the engine warms up to the Cam)

TOTAL PROJECTED COST: 1,400

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

-JD

PS WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T BY A $400 turbo off EBAY or something.....very bad idea.....and you'll only get like 2 psi lol.....

Actually no....you can supercharge a v6 and get more power then a v8 for less the the GT purchase price....and you save even more money on gas/insurance FOREVER when you add it all up a smart tuner with a v6 will win on cost/speed vs a stock GT.

Re: Turbo choices

in order to DO IT RIGHT it will not be cheap, 6-8k as you will have to have some fab work done, heck might even be more as no one really makes a kit end result would be probably about 400 at the motor without building the engine, or about what a stock 03 cobra comes with... but not as much tq. Weight is a great thing though as the car will be not nearly as heavy.

Well if I find a good set up or just have one made for me I'm not gonna go cheap.... I would rather put the money into it and have it done right so it will last me and not mess up the first month....lol but I was just wondering if anybody knew of any turbo set up for a 2010 mustang 4.0.

This has got to be your DD, right? Turbos and SC's DO diminish motor life so if you're going for raw HP gains, trade that V6 in for a nice 2011 V8 and start on building the engine from the ground up. You can't run the motor at a full sprint when it's only built for jogging speed.

Re: Turbo choices

Turboing such a late model vehicle gets expensive quick....I would advise a supercharger from one of the big 3. They are typically easier to R&D, produce, and therefore cheaper.....earlier

And you could easily get the HP #'s you're looking for (I'm assuming) with 6-8 psi out of a centrigufal.

Well I looked on line and I have seen the x-charger but I also have found a turbo kit made by powerhouse411.com I'm really thinking about getting it.... But I'm not really looking to get crazy hp I just want more power from my v6 enough to mess with stock gts and still get good gas Milage..... The kit was in the low 5000 and it's cheaper than the x-charger.... But dnt get me wrong supercharger are bad *** but to me I think a v6 should be turbo and a v8 should be s/c but thats me! Lol
