Re: 07 V6 Black GT500 Clone

looks sick! Ive wanted to get the GT500 front bumper but I expect that many people would be pissed for tryin to rock shelby stuff on a V6. I think that everything on the exterior is already awesome. I would just get anymore performance mods that I don't already have if I was you, but i obviously don't know what you already have up under the hood other than the 4.0

I figured somebody would say this eventually, I generally don't care if people do clones if one, they don't badge the car, or two if they have replaced the car to the same engine or a better one then the car they r cloning.

He has the badges... Its just I went out of my way to buy one. And mine is fairly rare. 1 in 1700. And anyone with a green mustang can make it look like mine. Just not right.

Life sucks. Turns out people can do whatever they want to the car they buy. Lets not ruin yet another thread regarding someone "Misbadging" a Mustang.

I wasn't bashing him. Just stating I don't like clones and my reason why. But if he wants to then I say go for it. I just personally wouldn't do it

Not a big fan of clones either but it's not my car....I was just wondering though....out of all the time and effort and money is it really worth it to do this to a V6?!?!?!? not being an *** or anything...just curious

Re: 07 V6 Black GT500 Clone

i know that a gt500 front end conversion alone is about like 1500 normally. i might be wrong though. but as far as suggestions i would say supercharge that bad boy so if someone tries to run you they at least can think its a shelby running weak. either way tho at least you did a legit conversion and you wouldnt be able to tell besides for the exaust note

Is it lowered? It doesn't look like it is to me. If it isn't I would drop it and give it a more aggressive stance to back up the look. And when people ask you why your cobra doesn't go fast tell them you want everyone to see who is driving it. Looks good.

I did the conversion about a little over a year ago. Total cost me $2250. Pretty good but that's considering a friend of mine owns a body shop. Would have been more if not for that. To me I wanted the car to look exactly like a GT500. And I did that. I've been thinking about custom badging and once I come up with something I'll change them.
It's stock suspension. I want to upgrade but don't know what to get. Would like to do shocks and struts all at once. Any suggestions?
What about brakes? Want to upgrade those too. I want the GT500 brembo kit for the front which is like $1400.00. Would those work on my car? Anyone done it?
X-charger is in mind also but can't afford it right this second. How much does this cost to install? Don't want to do it myself.
Any other mods you guys can think of please keep em coming. Thanks.

Well suspensions are like CAI kits. There are so many and everyone has there own opinions about them all. I like BMR stuff or maximum motorsports. I would go with the suspension before the brakes, you get more for the money in my opinion. Again though just an opinion. Also do you have gears?

I'll check those out. No gears but have been looking at newtakeoff.com for complete rear end with 4.10's. I have an auto so those should be fine right?

I have always gone with 3:73 for low end and still highway drivability. I have only had GTs though so I don't know how a V6 would run different if at all.

So 3.73's or 4.10's. Ok I'll check those both out and look at more forums. But back to suspension besides shocks and struts what else can I add?

It affects av6 like our v8s. 4.10 is ok for autos. Wouldn't recommend for standards. If he is on the hwy alot I would use 3.73

I think the sway bars are beefier than the v6, might look into that

That's what I thought, thanks for clarifying. As far as suspension the sky is the limit. You can get bare minimum and buy springs only or buy an entire kit from places like LRS that include everything from sway bars to upgraded bushings ect...depends on how far you want to take it really. I am a show guy mostly with a touch of a speed freak. I baby my cars so I have never gone suspension crazy.
