Is this normal?

After a carwash, noticed this today. Is that flap like thing in the middle of the picture normal to be bent outward like that?

Re: Is this normal?

My wife's 99 V6 coupe had one in plastic that was bent forward to help scoop air into the radiator.

I chased another v6 I noticed ahead of me and saw the same thing on her car too. I guess it's normal. Will look for a few more.

Noticed the same thing on another v6 today. No other v6 owners have this? This is the rear of the car. I'll start looking at v8s now.

Seen this on another 2 v6es. I wonder what it's function is. We'll have to see if v8s have them too.

Saw this on a GT too. Now I'm really curious about this weird protrusion.

Re: Is this normal?

Might just be some type of shield or bracket.
I thought it was a picture of the front at first, hence the answer I gave.

That's what I figured by your comment. That's why I mentioned it's the rear. I think it's a shield but they could've done a far better job with the design. It looks like a monstrosity on such a beautiful car!

Yes, they definitely could have done better.
