i have to say though, if I had the money, i think it would be cool to build up a sixer to outrun most gts...

I've thought the same but the gts have so many choices for mod not to mention the ridiculous amount of hp they are capable of.

The new edge V6s don't get much better gas mileage than the GT. Get a standard GT and drive it easy and you could get better mpg than the 6er.

I'll be the first to say I do y make a habit of slapping my car around, but I would argue that you are not going to get better MPG on a GT new or old then the newer V6's. Want a close to 50/50 horsepower/MPG split go with the 6. Want more like a 60/40 split get a GT. The more power you build in your 6 the less MPG you will get. The opposite holds true if you want more MPG from your GT. This holds true from the beginning of cars. The new V6 has a great balance of both, 31/300, where as my GT was like 24/215.

Re: who else wants a v8

I've got a 1985 mustang gt and I didn't want the same 5.0 that every one else had so I got a 2.3 turbo motor and I put it in my 85 reggeta blue mustang I got a bigger turbo and injector megasquirt it and got exhaust header upper and lower intake and a ranger roller cam it should it down around 400 hp when I get it programed but I get 27 mpg and thts the best of both worlds

Re: who else wants a v8

I've always wanted a v8 but I wouldn't trade my sixxer for anything
Eventually I will have a v8
