2.73 to a 3.73 would be a gigantic difference.. it'll feel like you packed on 80rwhp, I bet. And from a 55mph roll don't even think about it. My buddy has a '88foxbody pushing 409rwhp and 3.55 gears, my New edge is around 255rwhp(conservatively) with 4.10s, and I take him from a 55roll everytime. Don't fear the gear.
Wow, that much of a difference. Im so there. And I thought the sct tuner made a difference. Lol

Just make sure to do specific research to get more accurate numbers with a gear swap and your drivetrain options so you know what to expect! I love my 4.10s

No. 3.73 is a "best" general jack-of-all-trades gear for manual. Autos need a steeper gear for similar results like a3.90 or 4.10. The RPMs will be similar manual3.73 and auto3.90. Some autos run 4.30 gears and swear by them. It is all preference.

Re: best gears for auto

it is all preferance, I dont like the 4:10s, in my opinion I think the 3:73s are the way to go, I have had them both, I like the 3:73s much better for highway driving. again thats just my opinion
