I went to an Evolution Performance shop and the guys there told me that dual exhaust does nothing for automatic V6. They told me it was really just about "the look". Well.....I like the look anyway so most likely I'll get a dual(not sure which but they suggested ford racing). However i wanted to get you guys opinions on the matter.
unless you are planning on forced induction (which i believe requires dual pipes for airflow) then it gets you basically no performance gains. maybe 2-3 hp? unless you do headers, then you will pick up a little more. however, in my opinion, dual exhaust is a must for us v6s. they sound sooo much better with duals.
Yes they do go the there website and check the diff kinds out I like the single chamber 10s bc it gives it a lower rumble and yes pypes has a nice system and deff get an X pipe makes it more deep and throaty and gives all cylinders equal back pressure
i'd think more deeply about midpipe over muffler in a v6 exhaust...that choice will change up the tone greatly in these little even firing engines lol
as for me and my opinion...flow 10s are way to raspy on a divorced setup or axle back...but with a good h pipe or prochamber it would work. currently i'm on i want to say my 6th exhaust (i like to play around with different combos)..and the current one is my favorite i've had.
Hello everyone. I see a lot of ppl like the duals look. I was told by my mechanic (who used to work for Roush, but now has his own place) that unless you put true dual it does not make any difference in performance. Dual axlebacks do nothing but look nice. I haven't put duals on my car yet, but I have been thinking about it. Right now I have a Flowmaster Super 44 made for V6 & it sounds real nice. I just have one & I can't hear the radio anymore! So, I also have been thinking of leaving it at that. Does anyone else have the Super 44? My 70 has true dual Flowmasters & is extremely loud!
I also wanted to know....is it easier to just install a GT rear fascia or to cut the hole for the 2nd pipe in the original?
It is easier to cut the driver side, much less involved. And I actually liked the look better than the GT rear end. Only reason I changed was it was cheaper for me to swap rear bumpers after I was rear ended on I-94
