Re: 09 V6

did you just replace the muffler or go with true duals ??
I've got dynomax true duals with an x-pipe on my 06 v6 and she's pretty loud

Re: 09 V6

well long tubes sound better and make more power ,but you'll have to get a matching cat converter pipe
i have shorties ,they bolt right up to the factory cat pipe

the long tubes wont bolt up to the stock exhaust
they have a pipe ,with or without cats ( x or h pipe ) that you have to purchase separately to bolt them to your exhaust

Re: 09 V6

this thread...

OP...you need to understand first off that your car already has a cam...so asking if you can put in a cam is kinda funny....the answer is yes you have have a different cam installed. as for exhaust coming out the side on a cobra....which cobra are you referring too...the only one i can think of is a cobra r...

also know that the guys reccomending 10's are in new edges (99-04)...the way the exhaust tone on their cars play out are a lot different from an s197 (05-10)...s197's are naturally raspy compared to a new edge..so i don't reccomend a single chamber. the super 40's you installed were the way to go man....good choice on muffler.

back to you wanting a side exhaust....only do it if you buy the proper side skirt of the setup...however you'll need to buy new mufflers for that since no muffler v6's sound crappy 99% of the time...

Are you a mechanic? Because you need one for that. You'll most likely need yo pull your engine to really get at it

---------- Post added at 01:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:19 PM ----------

But yes it would be worth it. Faster into your bands. Everything speeds up. And sounds great

Its gunna cost you an arm and a leg. Id say between 2-4k because of engine work and other needed parts. Maybe more

Honestly it all depends on hoe you drive and how much highway driving you do. 4.10's are great low end take off but highway isn't that great on MPG but 3.73 are good all around

Yeah but that's mostly with really sticky tires. And with a v6 you probably don't have that great of tires. So when you give it alot it'll just spin stead of breaking your rear end. And driveshaft is totally different
